Chapter 2: We are going to steal a car

We sat in silence. I guess they didn't have the energy to be mad at me like I thought they would.

"Alfie. Ethan. Marcey. Jason. I am going to kill the thing that did this." I said "we need to make up a story for you guys to tell the police once they get here because if you tell them a demon-"

"No Maria we are not calling the police." Said Alfie.

"We are going to help you kill the demon." Ethan said. I thought this might happen. They are not coming. That's final.

"No you are not." I said.

"You're crazy if you think we're staying here while you go off and hunt down the demon that killed all our families" said Marcey "And get yourself killed in the process probably" she added.

"I'm not letting you guys throw your lives away" I didn't want to go by myself I just had to.

"What and you can just throw yours away?" Asked Ethan.

"They're after ME!" I pointed at myself, "not you! You can live your lives but that thing is going to find me! Marcey has a little sister and an older brother that weren't here they are alive. Alfie has a little brother and sister. Ethan you have some family somewhere." It wasn't like we were all alone in the world and this was their only option.

"So you're just going to leave us. To tell the cops lies? And be murder suspects?" Asked Jason.

"Jason your 13 they're not going to think your a murder suspect!" He was a kid for goodness sake.

"And if they do" he countered.

"You didn't kill them so your not guilty and nothing will happen" I snapped back. That shut him up. "I am going you are not that's FINAL!"

"Can't stop us." Ethan stood up and crossed his arms. "We are coming it's not your choice. It's ours."

"If you are with me you are in danger. There's a thing after me." I keep trying to make them listen it's not working "You could have died today."

"If we aren't with you you're in danger" Marcey stood up too as she talked "You are 15 you can't hunt things all by yourself. You could have died today too and you could die trying to hunt the demon"

"No because the demon wants me alive! And it's my fault you almost died! I do NOT want to be responsible for your death!" I was shouting now. And standing. I didn't even realize. I got quieter "I've killed enough people today"

"It's not your fault." Said Alfie "You didn't kill them."

I sat back down. "If I wasn't here they would be alive."

"Well how were you supposed to know? And it's not like you could've done anything." Jason said.

Like that changes anything I thought.

"Well I know if you come with me you will die and that will definitely be my fault." I said "so you. stay. here."

"We will not die. And once again," said Marcey "there's nothing you can do to stop us"

I looked around. They were determined. I could see it on their faces. I really couldn't do anything. I'd known each of them for at least 5 years. I was defeated.

"Fine" I gave in. "We need to leave. We are going to steal a car"

"Maria are you sure you can drive....

without killing us?"

"Yes I've driven the car before. I didn't hit anything." I was freaking out on the inside. Of course I can't!

"Can I drive?" Asked Jason. "I'm better at Mario cart."

"Jason shut up." I replied

"We are going to get caught. Then we are going to get arrested." Ethan was freaking out in the backseat. I had stuck the boys back there me and Marcey in the front because I knew Marcey at least wouldn't freak out on me.

"Ethan this is our life now! We are going to do too many illegal things to count." I looked at him over the seat "Besides it's my moms car how is it illegal?"

"Your only 15!"

"I promise you will not die in this car while I am driving" I hope.

I backed out of the parking space slowly. Then stopped.

"Phones" I said holding out my hand. They all stared at me. "The cops can track the phones."

Still blank stares. "I know what I'm talking about I watch at least 3 different crime shows they can track us down. The phones stay here... No nevermind we destroy them." The police needed to know as little about us as possible.

"How?"

"There's a fire pit out back" suggested Alfie.

And so we burned our phones. It was a sad day.

And then we hopped back into the blue ford explorer and I drove us away.

So just some stuff about the book.

Maria is based off of me. Except she's going to be more awesome then me.

Jason is based off my real little brother. He helped me with some of the dialogue to make Jason more real for you guys. We had these conversations pretending to be the characters. AaronHDrury he has a channel too he wrote a Star Wars fanfic. You should check it out it's good.

Also my friend Romanos_girl helped me name Marcey and Alfie.

Alfie was not meant to be a reference I didn't think about it.

Also my characters are all partially based off real people because I'm bad at making this up. but they are my characters so copyright INVISIBLENINJAH on Alfie, Marcey, Ethan, Maria, Jason and this story I guess.
