Chapter 43
In this dark abyss, my name echoed. As though drowning in an endless pit, pain surged through my body opening my eyes instantly.
"Good, she's conscious" I heard an unfamiliar voice speak out.
What was happening. It felt as though all the energy in my body had been sucked out dry as I lay slightly weak on the soft surface that I lay on. The indescribable pain made its presence known yet again as I felt myself tear up.
"Irene, hey, everything's gonna be okay" Zander's eyes met mine.
"What's going on?" I questioned him in utmost worry. "Is something wrong with our baby?"
He shook his head trying to calm my now panicked demeanor. "No, your body doesn't seem to have the strength to handle this, my love, so if the worst comes into play, I don't think we can-" I cut him off instantly.
"Zander promise me we'll have the child. You have to promise me okay? I didn't suffer this much just to lose out child in the end, please, I beg you, please don't let anything happen to out child." I pleaded with tears blurring my vision.
"Hey, hey, there's nothing wrong for now, that's only in the worst possible case. I know everything's gonna be okay, we're gonna see and hold our child and we're gonna raise them, remember, you promised me that." he reminded me. I nodded my head calming my nerves.
"Alpha, since the Luna is conscious and there's still time before the delivery, since she hasn't dilated fully, she should try walking around a bit." the doctor suggested. "But the moment she feels any dizziness or nausea, please bring her back here, so we can monitor her. Any signs of contraction pain or difficulty in walking is normal, so do not panic."
Zander nodded and the doctor took his leave. Sighing, he stood out putting his hand out for me.
"Shall we go?"
I nodded taking his hand and standing up. Pain hit me in a wave as I crouched slightly taking in breaths.
"Are you feeling any pain? Are you dizzy? Nauseated?" Zander rolled the questions one after the other.
"it's okay, it's just the contraction pains."
Nodding in understanding, we began out tiring yet long walk around the hospital corridor.
"I spoke to your mother earlier, she seemed in a frenzy. She along with Alpha Cole will be hear either during or after your delivery from the way it sounded." Zander infidned Me.
"You'd think she's the one giving birth." I smiled imagining my mother's panicked demeanor.
"What do you think we'll have? A boy or a girl?" I questioned in anticipation.
"it doesn't matter, as long as it's healthy." Zander said not giving it much thought making me pout.
"And here I thought, you actually pondered over it."
"It's not that I didn't ponder over it, but can I ever be unhappy in being blessed to have a child with you? Boy or girl, it's our child." he said as something sparkled in his eyes for a split second.
I guess he's happier than me. Slowly a smile crept unto my face.
" what would we name them?" I questioned even more excited.
"I thought all the names we thought of during the past few days were of help" Zander stated in confusion making me chuckle.
"but we didn't choose any" I said shaking my head with a sigh. "Will you choose our child's name Zander?" I asked him with a glint in my eye, trying to give him no place to escape.
"Me?" he questioned caught off guard.
I nodded frantically trying to give him motivation to agree. "well sure... I guess" he said as he rubbed the back of his neck, his ears ringing red. Shy? I smiled at the thought.
"I'm going to pass by the bathroom, I'll be back." he said as he stood up disappearing around the corner.
A man walked past me catching my attention.
"Excuse me, can I have a moment of your time?" I questioned.
