Ch 23: Be Together

"The library? What for Gid?"

"I am unsure. Leo, Mr.Snart's do gooder dopple ganger, wishes to converse with her in a private setting."

"I see... best not keep him waiting." Amaya bid Clarity ado leaving her in the room with Nate, Zari and the kiddos to sneak out Snart.

"Gideon said that you wanted to see me." Amaya walked into the study seeing Leo Snart sitting behind the desk. Two glasses of water in front of him.

"Come in." He greeted. "Have a seat. You comfortable? I know the Legends have lost a friend. I've been there. I wanna help you guys
through the grieving period. Though he is safe and sound back home I sense there is a hole left behind. Change can be so terribly hard."

"Oh, that's... that's very sweet of you." Amaya replied to him with a thin smile. Martin Stein having chosen to retire from the team to be with his grandson Ronnie.

"I wanna give you the chance to get anything off your chest, anything at all. All the things you wouldn't say to his face for fear of upsetting him. What would you really like to say...To Professor Martin Stein?" Leo Snart pulled out a Stein puppet.

"I... I think that everyone copes in their own ways." Amaya began uneasily as she saw the puppet.

"You all insist your happy for him, but your denying your own sadness to his absence. It's clear the Legends are ill-equipped to cope at all." Leo denied with a shake of his head.

"This way?" Amaya gestured to the puppet. "This is wrong."

It was Ray's turn after Amaya.

"Uh, actually, there is one question I never got to ask Marty while he was on board." Ray admitted. "I always thought it was gonna cause a major disagreement so I never asked it."

"Great." Leo grinned. "Ask it now. Steins listening."

"When I reduce the Waverider's coefficient
of sinusoidal depleneration, it seems to inversely hyper-celerate-"

"Maybe just send him an email. I was looking for something that has to do with his retirement. Some negative feelings perhaps?" Leo inquired.

"Oh, no. I'm happy for Marty. Finally gets to spend proper time with his immediate family. That's what he wanted and I've accepted it." Ray nodded. "It's not the first time a legend got old and retired you know. Your dopple actually got stranded in Nazi times with his boyfriend. They got old together, got married, not necessarily in that order, and they decided to stay there together. Are you going to marry your Ray? I'd love to affitiate the wedding."

"Okay. I'd say we're done here. Gideon send the next legend." Leo requested because he didn't really have time to unpack all of that. Was he really the marrying kind? He didn't think so but if his earth 1 counterpart could do it then maybe...

"Dude, he has a puppet." Ray smiled at Nate on his way out.

"Bro no way. Is that what the waters for? Is he gonna do ventriloquy?" Nate strode into the room, and immediately started having Leo do impersonations of the professor. Leo played along if only to try to get Nate to admit his true feelings.

"Let's hear it again." Nate nodded at him.

"What would you really like to say to me, Nathaniel?" Leo repeated.

"Still a little too nasally. Remember, you speak very precisely." Nate urged.

"This is therapy, not acting class." Leo denied.

"Nice! That's the right level of frustration.
That's very Stein. Now just do it with the puppet."

After Snart realized Nate wasn't gonna take it seriously he moved onto Mick. Who the moment he saw the puppet started punching it.
