"Huh." Zari commented as she chewed more of her pancake.
"What?" Clarity asked sipping some orange juice.
"Nothing I think I just realized why you don't drink coffee in the future. You get kind of down, crashing from that sugar high already?"
"Shut up." Clarity kicked Zari under the table with a slight smile. Though some of her lightning decided to escape her heel and zap Zari's chair. The other hackers hair smoking standing on end steaming.
"Ow." Zari glared at her and fired a wind blast right back at her.
"Sorry...sorry," Clarity apologized with a little wince. "Too much sugary coffee. My powers are all jittery. Lightning, metal ship basically everything conducts."
"Keep your lightning to yourself and I won't have to make that orange juice blow into your face." Zari countered cutting into her pancake more.
"I'll do my best." Claritys replied.
"What does your best have to do with it? Just don't use them." Zari replied.
"Being living lightning isn't as easy as it looks. With that totem, you can take it off, get a break from it need be, but for me, it's constant. Every second of everyday from the second I open my eyes I feel everything humming with electricity. People, the ship, their phones, anything and everything that has an electrical charge. My powers are always dancing inside of me, moving, flowing never stilling...wanting out. There a moments, when I forget I need to hold it back. Sometimes I think it has a mind of its own, but I know it's just a part of me. A part of me that was awakened when the lightning struck me, a part I wish would go back to sleep and never wake up, but that's not happening so, I live with them the best I can."
"Pardon to interrupt but the team has returned. While they were unsuccessful in retrieving any vampires they did stumble across Director Hunter and Young Jonas." Gideon informed the two.
"Oh did they? Excuse me, Zari. I better go say hello." Clarity bid Zari farewell. Zari looked around the corner making sure Clarity was gone before she stole Clarity's pancakes for herself. She wasn't letting them go to waste.
"Rip Hunter, welcome back to the tardis." Clarity greeted glitching to his side.
"Ah yes it's great to be back on the waverider." Rip replied tipping his hat off his head.
"He means the tardis." Jonas spoke up pushing his way through the adults. "Hi, Clarity."
"Hey, J." Clarity greeted Jonas as he rushed up to hug her. "What brings you to jolly old Londontown? Your dad showing you his roots? Cause I can let you in on a secret," Clarity tapped his nose. "America is much less dull. We have better weather. Brighter colors. I'd stay there."
"I know right? London sucks!" Jonas agreed grinning ear to ear.
"It does not suck." Rip protested once more growing more irritated by the second. "Why must you insist on always corrupting my child?" Rip looked at Clarity in annoyance.
"Ohh, Uh oh someone sounds cross." Clarity nudged Jonas the two sharing a laugh.
"You have nothing to laugh about, Clarity. You left quite the bloody mess back at the bureau. The insignia won't stop glitching and I have agents up to their knees in paperwork. You could have at least given me notice instead of quitting out of the blue. Not that I can do anything about it, seeing how all copies of your contract have mysteriously vanished."
