"No, we were wrong." Clarity denied. "There is no vampire. It's just a corpse, of..." Clarity trailed hesitating once again as she looked to Sara.
"You can say his name, Clarity." Sara replied, the hard unreadable look softening as she looked to her. "I'm...I'm okay."
"You aren't." Clarity insisted walking up to her.
"Then I will be." Sara replied, letting Clarity give her a hug. Sara closed her eyes for the briefest second. Soaking up Clarity's warmth. Clarity's hugs were always like that, at least to Sara, warm and safe. Her gentle touch always enough to calm to boiling blood lusting rage inside of her. Sara wasn't sure how but it always worked. She didn't know why she found Clarity's embrace to feel so safe, but she did. Without fail, everytime. Sara had to remind herself to stop the hug before it went on too long. Though Sara knew Clarity wouldn't mind if it did, the assassin wasn't about to tease herself with the possibility of something more. She'd messed things up, that initial trick had costed her, Clarity didn't want her that way any more. "As soon as we fix this and put him back in the ground in 2016 where he belongs. I will be."
"Captain Lance," Rip strides up to the pair and Sara let go of Clarity. The glitch letting go as well taking that as her cue to pull back. "need I remind you we are no longer just fixing ordinary anachronisms here. Mallus is the only game that matters."
"No, it's your game." Sara denied. "We have to stop Damien Darhk from coming back to life."
"And we will." Rip confirmed. "But from all indications, Mallus is coming here to recruit Darhk. If we destroy Darhk's body, we destroy any chance of apprehending Mallus at the resurrection ceremony."
"Apprehend Mallus? Since when did this go from catching a vamp to defeating an ancient evil in a few hours after we've first heard about it? If he's as powerful as you say he is where would we even contain him? You think the brig is gonna hold him? Or a time cell back at the bureau? Use you head. I know your worried about Jonas, Rip, but now is not the time to try and capture this thing. It'll be a slaughter. We can't risk a member of the legion of doom getting resurrected." Clarity protested.
"If it was Elicia wouldn't you risk it?" Rip challenged her.
"I'd trust my daughter to be able to hold out a little longer over some scary nightmares and I'd comfort her the best I could, but I wouldn't make some shoddy attempt at containing something I barely know anything about. If containment goes wrong who knows what could happen. Have you forgotten how Darhk tortured you? How he stood by when Eo..." Clarity bit her tongue. "We barely know anything about Mallus, but we sure as hell know about Dhark and he is the immediate threat. We put his body back in the ground, we sabotage Mallus's plans and he's down a henchman. It's a win-win."
"It's not. We cannot just focus on winning the battle we have to think about the bigger picture, Clarity. About the war. We have to stop it before it starts. Whatever Mallus has in store for the timeline is bigger than Damien bloody Darhk. All of you have to see that."
"If Sara says, "Kill Darhk," or "Re-kill Darhk," or "Prop him up in a convertible like 'Weekend at Bernie's, '" that's what we do, because she's the captain." Nate protested crossing his arms.
"I know that you all want to destroy Darhk once and for all. You're just gonna have to be patient." Rip protested.
"I'd like to speak to you in private." Sara told Rip walking into the parlour.
"Good luck in there." Nate tapped Rip's shoulder.
"Private means private, Pachirisu. Go." Sara told Clarity who hesitated to leave. "It's okay, Clarity. I'll keep my knives and my hands to myself. Only thing I might raise is my voice."
