"Well, why would a time-traveling meta-human come to 2042 to kill a bunch of A.R.G.U.S. agents?" Jax wondered from where he sat on the circular table.
"She didn't." Sara replied pausing the video. "She came here to kill their prisoner." Sara shoved her hands into her back pockets.
"Well, it looks like she struck out." Jax pointed out.
"Something tells me our assassin doesn't give up so easily." Sara stared at the screen. Putting herself in the assassins shoes in her mind. If Sara had been in her position she'd be pissed.
"You got a plan, Captain?" Ray asked her.
"Why?" Mick demanded. "We saved Four-eyes. Mission accomplished."
"And Four-Eyes' mission was to prevent the anachronism." Gary looked down already feeling like a failure. Especially if these guys came to his rescue.
"You mean stop the water witch before she kills whoever was in the back of that truck?" Jax asked and Gary nodded in affirmation.
"But what about Argus?" Clarity asked him. "That's not an anachronism? This is what life is gonna be for us in twenty years? Martial law? Don't we have to do something? Why am I the only one upset about this?"
"Look, I don't like it either, Clarity. But for now we don't do anything about Argus. We're not making a mess of this one. We can't afford it, the time bureau has us on thin ice, probably even thinner ice since we stole one of their greatest agents." Sara reached out to tug lightly on Clarity's hair with a teasing look in her eyes.
"Former agent." Clarity corrected, earning herself a bit of a smile from Sara. "I guess you're right... I just...I want the future to be peaceful, and happy....for once. Every future we've seen it's...let's just do this and go." Clarity grabbed a tablet sitting on the circular table beside Jax.
"Gideon, scan A.R.G.US.' logs. See if you can ID the prisoner." Sara ordered the Ai.
"Already, done. Gid don't bother. Her name is Zari Tomaz." Clarity spoke up swinging her legs slowly.
"Alright well can you pinpoint where she is now?" Sara asked.
"I don't know." Clarity sighed. "I don't know what her electrical signature feels like, and if she knows where camera's are..."
"How about you, Gideon?" Sara asked the Ai. "Can you find Zari's current location?"
"I can do better than that, Captain. I can project the prisoner's most likely destination." Gideon informed her.
"Even better." Sara pursed her lips with a little nod.
"Send the coordinates to my phone Gid." Clarity requested.
"Already done, Creator." Gideon replied.
"Alright, Jax you stay here with Stein in case Amaya goes berserk. The rest of us let's go get Zari."
"What? Me too?" Gary asked in alarm.
"No not you Gary. You're not a legend." Sara denied unable to keep the annoyance out of her voice. "You stay. We've got this."
"I'll be back before you know it. Just chill, it's okay." Clarity promised all the legends going to the fabrication room to grab weapons and suit up. Though upon further thought Clarity opted out of putting on her supersuit. It would be easier to blend in if she wore plain clothes. Once everyone was ready Clarity glitched them all to Zari's hide out.
"I already told you. I have to do this." The woman said as she stood back turned to them. Speaking just as she heard the sound of Clarity's glitch. "You don't have siblings you don't understand."
