"Uh, m-maybe we could put it to a team vote instead?" Clarity asked voice close to shaking. She hadn't prepared herself for the possibility of not being let back. Had it been too late to change her mind? Did she realize she was wrong too late?
"No, no." Sara replied regaining her composure. "I've made my decision."
"If you had to think about it at all I guess I know what it is already," Clarity looked down at her shoes. She turned around, "I think I'll just spend some time with Gideon before I go if that's alright. Even if it's not you can't exactly stop me from doing that so..." Clarity pointed awkwardly in the direction of the console. "I'm just gonna..."
"Clarity, stop, hey, I'm kidding." Sara told her. "Permission granted. Eternally."
"Damn." Jax sighed. "You even had me going there."
Sara shrugged, finally allowing herself to smile. "What Captain can't have a little fun?"
"Yay! Yes! Ohh! Does this make me a pirate now? I've always wanted to be a pirate! Uh I mean," Clarity beamed glitching over to hug the assassin resting her head in the crook of the assassins neck. "Thank you, Sara."
"You're welcome." Sara replied pulling back from her. "I'm glad your back. If I'm being honest here we could really use you. Amaya rejoined too yesterday but her totem-"
"It's acting all kinds of screwy." Jax interjected. "She almost mauled PT Barnum yesterday."
"She's having trouble controlling her ashe's." Sara continued. "You are just the security blanket I was hoping to find on the off chance she loses it."
"Magnetize her totem off her and pin her with lightning if and when her totem bugs out until the murderous tendency passes. I can do that no problem, but you know that's no permanent solution. We should work on training, like we used to do with Kendra. Maybe her animal sides needs taming."
"Code 99." Gary's voice chimed to life from a communicator. "This is Agent Gary Green. Seattle, Washington, 2042. I just witnessed a female meta of unknown origin. She killed everyone."
"After we deal with that." Clarity sighed looking to the small tablet lying on the circular table.
"Hey." Jax lightly hit her arm. "Clue us in. What's going on? What's a code 99?"
"Unauthorized time travel with malicious intent to kill. Gideon plot a course to that..." Clarity bit her lip as Sara gave her a look. "Sorry, not my job I know."She twirled a strand of her hair around her finger. "But he's my friend, the only one I really made in the bureau. He's probably there all alone if it's recon he was supposed to be doing...and saving people is what we do so..." Clarity trailed as she looked at the assassin hopefully. "...please can we go help him? It's a meta," She gestured to herself moving her hands to point at Sara. "Assassin. We're good with dealing with those. Remember the pilgrim?"
"Hell yeah." Jax agreed pulling Clarity in for a side hug. "Sara, We kicked her ass. We've got to go for 2 out of 2 and light this one up."
"Gideon, plot a course to Seattle Washington, 2042. Hone in on Gary's distress signal." Sara ordered resting a hand on Claritys shoulder. "We can go help your friend. All you had to do was ask."
"Why are we changing course?" Mick demanded beer spilled on his shirt.
"We intercepted a distress call from one of Rip's Time Bureau agents." Sara answered.
"Ah! You made me miss-Sparky?" Mick demanded as he saw her cutting off what he'd originally been about to say. "The hell you doing here? Thought you were busy being Rip's special side meta chick?"
