Clarity choked on her drink. "You cannot be serious." She'd never seen so many zero's in her life.

"Deadly." Rip replied leaning closer to her. "Clarity in building the bureau I've noticed a major flaw. An oversight on my part which I'd like to remedy. My agents they're well trained, I've drilled them through hundreds of simulations, but they can't do what you can do with your abilities. There are some anachronisms that are simply too great for a normal person to take down even when working in consort with one another. I need something. Someone to call in when we have an anachronism of inhuman caliber that my agents have no chance of handling. That someone I believe is you."

"I'd have to out myself as a meta to do what your asking." Clarity stared at the napkin. Wondering if it was worth it or not. All that money, she could pay for her mother's medical bills but she would have to come out to her father. Come clean about what she did to her mother. Did she want the whole world knowing she was metahuman?

"No, that's the beautiful thing about the time bureau." Rip insisted. "It's top secret, even more so than the JSA ever was. The only people who'd know of your meta status is the President, a small handful of top government officials and everyone working for the bureau with whom you work with. Your secret identity would remain intact to the outside world. Any footage of you fighting or using your powers would be deleted right along with any anachronisms we erase. Clarity you'd be able to use your powers, no mask, silly costume, or secret identity required. Time needs to be fixed. I need your help to do that."

"Why not ask firestorm or Nate? Amaya even?" Clarity wondered.

"In truth, your abilities are the most versatile." Rip clasped his hands together. "We're never quite sure what an anachronism will be. The only data we can tell is it's level of magnitude."

"And I would be handling the higher level one's exclusively?" Clarity asked. "I don't know seems dangerous."

"It is." Rip admitted. "Admittedly, the job I am asking you to fill does require you putting your life at risk. It's part of the reason the hazard pay is so high. But I assure you it's no more dangerous than you fighting meta's in Central which I assume you would have been doing anyways or time traveling taking down threats on the waverider had I not disassembled you all. I wouldn't be offering you this position if I wasn't confident you could not just handle it, but thrive in it, Clarity."

"If I did accept, would I get one of those cool time watch thingies?" Clarity pointed to Rip's wrist.

"Yes, every field agent has one. In fact, if you do take the offer, I won't just give you a time courier." Rip took a breath. "I'll give you Gideon as well."

"You'll give me Gideon? But how will the waverider function without her?"

"It won't. I'm turning the ship into a simulator for trainees. It would be a shame to just," Rip shook his head. "Take her off line."

"You give me Giddy, and I'm in."

"Consider it done." Rip replied. He took a badge out of his coat. Passed it to her. "Welcome to the time bureau. I'll see you on Monday."

-present time-

"What the hell Clarity you joined the time bureau!?" Nate exclaimed shaking her out of her memories.

Clarity looked at the three, eyes flicking between them appearing just as surprised as they did. "Guys what are you doing-" She didn't finish her question. The Amazon having tackled her. Clarity glitched before she could slam into the wall positioning herself above the Amazon.

"I was talking to my friends! That was so rude," she used her lightning to cling to the wall her hands and feet placed flat against the painted surface. The metal piping behind the plaster perfect for magnetizing to. She kicked the Amazon in the head channeling her electricity to her muscles. The Amazon staggered back. Clarity glitched some meta cuffs on her thinking that would be that but the woman broke out of them like they were pipe cleaners.
