"Ah, Agent Springs. Perfect timing." Rip breathed out holstering his gun. Knowing he didn't need the useless thing now that Clarity was here. "As always."
"Agent!?" Sara exclaimed mouth dropped open, Nate and Ray sharing similar reactions looks of shock and surprise on both their faces.
"Sara..?" Clarity whispered in confusion as her eyes settled on the canary at the sound of her voice. She hadn't seen Sara for six months, not since the day her life fell apart.
-flashback to moments after Tyler fired his gun-
Clarity felt by her ear, she felt a slight sting where the bullet had nicked her. She looked behind her and saw a rather vicious looking bear behind her. It was now bleeding out on the street. Tyler had just saved her from getting mauled. She turned back to face her ex.
"You're welcome." He replied throwing his arms out doing a mock bow. "Now don't talk to me. I'm working, go home, I don't want to see you." He averted his eyes looking at the ground as he went to walk away. "Your eyes still make me sick."
Clarity touched just under her eye lightly with her left hand. Right she didn't wear her contacts when she was on the ship anymore. She'd gotten comfortable with her friends with not having to conform to the average eye colors of society.
"What the hell was that about?" Sara demanded glaring after Tyler. "Clarity, who was that guy?"
"No one." Clarity cleared her throat. "He's no one, I-I should get home. I've got a lot of things to do. Bye guys keep in touch." Clarity waved walking away. She didn't glitch on the off chance Tyler was watching her. She felt the shame creeping up, shame for having powers, for being a freak, for wrecking their future together.
"Clarity hey hold on a second." Sara ran after her. "I need to talk to you."
"I'm not really in the mood for talking Sara." Clarity replied. "Can't this wait til some other time? I want to go home. I have a lot to do."
"No, it can't." Sara denied. "I've-I've waited too long to tell you already. I'm not making that mistake again. I don't want you to leave before I tell you. You need to know. You deserve to know."
"Alright," Clarity shifted her weight. "Tell me what?"
"That I love you." Sara admitted stepping closer grabbing her right hand. "I'm pretty sure, haven't felt like this in...I never have actually. Now that the speedsters gone, there's nothing stopping us. I want to be with you so...be my girlfriend?"
Clarity inhaled sharply, palm of her free hand rubbing against her forehead. "Uh..." she shut her eyes licking her lips shaking her head blinking for a second. She glitched her hand out of Sara's. "..ah..no...no. Yeah, No." Clarity opened her eyes. "No."
"No?" Sara repeated in surprise, she hadn't been expecting that answer. "Oh, uh, Do you not like me like-"
"It's not about liking you or not Sara. Because I do. I do like you. Really I do. I think your an amazing person. But I'm not ready. I can't be with anyone right now. Not like that. It's- so much has happened, I need to heal first. It's too much for me. I-I need time to focus on me. It pains me to say it but Thawne broke me, Elicia she was the final straw. I need to put myself back together before I shatter completely. It's something I have to do on my own. It's not anything you can help me through either. I just I need time, Sara. I don't know how long, but... I need more time. I need you to wait. Will you wait for me?"
"I'll wait." Sara replied with a nod. "If that's what you really need."
"It is." Clarity replied, "Thanks for understanding. I really am sorry it's not that I didn't want to say yes. I just can't right now." with that she glitched away to her apartment.
