"He left it at your place?" Ray asked in confusion not believing a government agent would be so careless with his badge.
"All right, maybe I lifted it off of him in the morning." Sara smiled to herself the boys both turning to look at her, but the assassin kept her eyes locked in front of her watching the elevator doors close. The three legends walked off the elevator, made it past two women agents not wearing ties or jackets only to be swarmed by multiple agents yelling things like
"Freeze!" , "Hands in the air!" "Eyes on, eyes on!" And Sara's personal favorite. "Hey, don't move!"Stay right there!"
"Hello, everyone." A female agent wearing flat black pointy shoes greeted. She walked with her hands held tightly behind her back. It made you wonder if they were held together as tightly as the bun in her hair. "Welcome. On the floor. Hands behind your heads."
Sara and Nate moved to comply with the order but Ray tried to argue against it though he did keep his hands up.
"Uh, sorry, there must be some kind of mistake. We're the we're the Legends!" Not that madame la tight bun seemed to care. She grabbed Ray's left wrist, spun him around. With her free hand pinching his neck she kicked his knee forcing him down to the ground. Pinning him there kneeling on his lower back with one knee hands still in place. "Oh!" Ray groaned in surprise not expecting the sudden attack. He hadn't been threatening. What gives?
"Oh, we know exactly who you losers are." The woman insisted as she pressed him harder into the floor.
"Wow, this floor is, like, super clean." Ray observed groaning as he both felt and heard his back crack. Was she going to break his spine!?All he did was ask a question how did it warrant this kind of response? He wasn't even armed! "Lady, why are you so mean?"
"Maybe it's that poly-blend pantsuit that's got her so grumpy." Sara suggested as she eyed her. Particularly the spot where her gun was holstered. She was standing close to her if Sara was fast she could reach it. Shoot all these guys before they had a chance to hit her or the boys. If she just timed everything right...
"I didn't know Men's Wearhouse gave group discounts." Nate gestured around with his fingers.
"What's wrong with you people? Do you want to get shot?" The angry lady agent snapped cocking her gun.
"Totally rather get shot than look like a Sears model." Nate replied looking dead serious.
"Hold your fire!" Rip ordered rushing out onto the scene. "Stand down! All of you. Excuse me." He pushed his way through agents who were all slowly lowering their guns. "Thank you. Thank you. Thank you." He looked to the legends one hand shoved in his suit pocket. And to think his day had been going so well. "Hello. So good to see you all." He turned to Nate who was closest to him. "Next time, just call ahead."
"You son of a bitch." Nate fumed shoving Rip back up against a pillar. Sara snatched angry lady's gun pointing it at her.
"Eyes on, eyes on!" An agent called all the agents resumed their gun pointing.
"There's been a slight misunderstanding, Dr. Heywood." Rip told him. He tried to reach for his flasher as he so often did in situations like these but of course it wasn't as easy to grab when it was in his suit and not his coat.
"Nate, what are you doing?" Ray asked working on pushing himself up off the ground but his back was screaming.
"I want to hear Rip say it." Nate replied as he looked Rip right in the eye. "You told Amaya to go back to 1942."
"Amaya went back to 1942?" Sara asked in surprise. Yet another piece of info she hadn't known. Amaya hadn't even said goodbye to her.
"It was her idea." Rip insisted and Sara looked away from the pair shutting her eyes. That was tough. "She wanted to go back home to Zambesi."
