                        32:COAN

That moment when a muslim auntie walks up to you and starts advising you on why Muslim girls should stop wearing or supporting abayas and niqabs as it sends a wrong message to the world about Muslim women being too oppressive and resistant to progress.

Dear auntie,We are muslimahs and Muslim in one word is freedom. Freedom to be who my Creator has created me to be.The true oppression is being valued for the shortness of your skirt, for the shade of your lisptick, for the height of your heels and having no one really care that you are a smart and passionate about who you are and what you believe in because they'd rather look at you and not listen to and truly value your words.

Hijab/niqab is not about making you "unbeautiful" but rather its about giving you the kind of beauty that cannot be seen but rather felt and that's not oppression.

Being modest is not oppression.

And trying to please Allah is definitely not being conservative.
