I woke up groggy, lolling my head around slowly, until I had the strength to lift it.

"You're tired now? You haven't even started pushing yet," The familiar voice made me pick my head up faster.

When I peeled my lids a part, Zedlin was sitting in a chair next to my bed, which was suddenly in a hospital room.

I smiled tiredly, "Hi."

Zedlin smiled his beautiful smile back at me, "Hey. You look exhausted, Sienna. Fùck me, for doing this to you."

At that, I laughed because I hadn't gone through my 'you did this to me' phase and he knew it.

"I'm a little sleepy, but I can still do this. I'm ready if you're ready..."

"I'm so ready, Sienna. I could deliver him my dàmn self. You think he's gonna have a lot of hair?" Zedlin asked, leaning forward and resting his chin on the side of my bed.

I couldn't help myself as I reached out and ran my fingers through his hair, "I hope so and I hope it's like yours."

Zedlin laughed and slowly moved my hand from his hair, placing it gently back onto my bed.

Suddenly, a pain like no other tackled me from behind, making me groan out loudly.

"Hey, what's going on? Is he coming?" Zedlin shot up onto his feet and stared at me with concern laced into his features.

"I-I think so!" I gasped out as another sting of pain shot through me.

Zedlin furrowed his brows, "Well, I have to go, Sienna... I can't stay. I can't be here for this."

"What? B-But you're here now, just stay," I reached out for him and grabbed his hand closest to me.

"They won't let me. You understand, Sienna. Please don't hate me for this... I l--"

Zedlin never got to finish his sentence, because the door to the room bursted open and police filed in one after another.

Zedlin scowled at them, but he didn't fight them. He let them snatch him up and roughly guide his hands behind his back, cuffing him on his hands and feet.

"Wait, officers please! This is such an important moment! H-He can't miss this. I need him here! PLEASE! OFFICERS... PLEASE!"

I awoke with a jerk and gasped out a few breaths, before I realized that I was sobbing.

"Oh my God, I'm delusional..." I said, wiping the tears from underneath my eyes.

My emotions were a mess and looking outside the window and seeing flurries of snow flying around made me cry even harder.

It was the start of a new season and Zedlin wasn't here, but most importantly it was the start of the season that our son could be born into any day now -- and Zedlin still wasn't here.

I knew deep down inside that it was always going to upset me, but I didn't realize that I was this upset about it.

Suddenly, I could hear a low voice outside of my bedroom door. It sounded like David and it sounded like he was talking to someone.

I didn't want him to see that I had been crying and ask me what was wrong, so I quickly turned onto my side facing the window completely and squeezed my eyes shut.

Seconds later my door slowly opened and David stepped into my room.

"You're a creep for this, which is making me a creep by default for doing it for you," he whispered.
