Chapter 27: Undeserving

Y/N: When I reverted did I hurt you both?

Y/N: I could hear your voices the whole time and yet my body wasn't listening to me at all...(hands starting to shake) I almost killed-

Maria: But you didn't!

Y/N looks up to see Maria staring at her with a determined look.

Maria: You still came back to us Master.

Maria: You heard us calling out to you and you responded.

Asuna: Before the "Master" from back then would never listen to us no matter how hard we'd try to call out to her.

Asuna: She could never hear us or she never wanted to listen.

Maria: (grabbing Y/N's right hand) You're not that person anymore.

Asuna: (grabbing Y/N's left hand) Being here with you is prove of that.

Maria & Asuna: Before your hands felt so rough and filled with rage for the person that destroyed your village, but now they feel calmer and more gentle than before yet they still have a firm grip for a different goal.

Y/N: "A different goal"?

Maria & Asuna: We can't tell you what is it because it's something only you desire.

Y/N: Asuna....Maria...

She starts to tear up before embracing her weapons and letting out more tears.

Y/N: (voice-breaking) I...I don't want to be that person anymore!

Maria & Asuna: You won't. Your desire for change is being heard loud and clear within your soul.

The two manifestations of Y/N's desires kiss their master on the cheek before hugging her arms as Y/N pats their heads.

Y/N: Thank you. Both of you.

Timeskip~

After leaving the Dorm, Y/N can be seen getting some sweets from one of the festival stands as she starts eating some of them before taking a walk.

Maria: (Are you sure you should be walking around now Master?)

Asuna: (You're limping a little)

Y/N: (I'll be fine, Now that I've eaten a little bit I feel completely re-energized and ready for any-)

Suddenly Y/N's tail is grabbed as she let's out a yelp before falling due to how weak her legs have gotten.

Yang: Didn't think I see you back up again~

Y/N: Y-Yang~?

Y/N turns to see Yang, who continues to caress Y/N's tail.

Yang: Nice to see you're getting better.

Y/N: Y-Yeah.

Yang helps her up as Y/N nearly falls again as Yang pulls her close to an embrace.
