Chapter 23: Amity

Y/N POV:

It's been a few weeks since the incident with Roman occurred as today is the start of the Vytal Festival.

Currently I'm sitting with Maria and Asuna at the Amity Colosseum seats to watch Team RWBY'S match against Team ABRN as its about to start.

Asuna: This is so exciting!

Maria: I hope they win.

Y/N: With all the training they've done there's no way they'd lose.

The match goes underway as Ruby, Yang, Weiss, and Blake face off against their opponents.

Port: Hello! It seems that we have another astonishing bout ahead of us! Wouldn't you agree, Professor?

Oobleck: (annoyed) Doctor. (Brightens back up) And yes Peter, I think it's safe to say this match may be the closest we've seen of the four-on-four round of the tournament!

Port: For those of you just now joining us, welcome to the Vytal Festival Tournament, broadcast live from the Amity Colosseum!

Port: If this is your first time watching, allow us to break down the rules.

Oobleck: The tournament is divided into three distinctive rounds; teams, doubles, and singles. Age and school year are irrelevant! In this tournament, your only attribute being tested... is skill.

Port: Correct! The winners of this battle will elect two of their members to represent them in the doubles round, followed by the winners of that round choosing one member to advance once again.

Port: The remaining combatants will then fight their way through the final bracket in the hope of achieving victory for their kingdom!

Oobleck: And yes, Peter, these certainly are some spectacular spectacles on which to spectate on! I don't think anyone tuning in around the world is going to disagree with me on that!

Port: Ahh, and why would they? Now, let's get back to the match between Team RWBY of Beacon, and Team ABRN, of Haven.

We look back down at the match to see Blake fighting against Reese as she
steers her board through the ice. She twirls herself until the board gets launched at Blake, but she's able to knock it away, only for Reese to direct it back at her.

Blake blocks it again, but the board rotates back to Reese to block Blake's strikes as she backs away and gets back on her board.

She rushes towards Blake only to collide with a frozen shadow clone left by her Semblance.

Blake then uses the opportunity to cut her board in two, only for the two halves to change into dual katars that in turn fold up into bayonet-bladed revolvers.

Reese then fires off a few green energy shots only for her to land on her tailbone on the ice.

Y/N: Oh...

Maria & Asuna: (hold their tails close) Thank Gods for tails.

We look to see Yang going against Arslan as their exchanging blow after blow ending with a shockwave as Yang tries to reach her until Arslan uses her rope dart to catch Yang off-guard, knocking her into the icy portion of the arena.

Yang gets back up only to loses her balance on the ice as Arslan used that to her advantage to hit her again causing Yang to land near Nadir.

He tries to use this to his advantage until Ruby immobilizes him with Ice dust.

Ruby: (looks up from her sniper scope) Got your back!

Bolin: But who's got yours?

He twirls his staff ready to strike until a black snowflake glyph appears to his left and Weiss kicks him through it into a rock.
