At the sanctuary

We got food cubes that we could give the animals and we walked around, I kept my sunglasses on. Since I'm very emotional today

I saw a quokka and knelt down. It ran up to me and ate the food out of my hand. I slowly reached my other hand out and petted it and it kept eating not worrying about me touching it i felt happiness for the first time in a long time

"Eddie look" I called out without thinking, he turned around and smiled when he saw what I was doing. Eddie took a photo of me and the quokka "That's so cute, you're the quokka whisperer Lenna" he replied and had a huge smile on my face."what should we name him?" I slowly got up not scaring it . "Gerald" Eddie simply answered and I agreed. "Bye Gerald," I said goodbye as we walked on. I walked with the group dozing off in thought and I tripped but Eddie grabbed me before I hit the ground. "Thanks " i mumbled and fixed my outfit as my cheeks flamed up in embarrassment

We saw kangaroos and i was kind of scared. "Come on Lensie " Mully encouraged me. I walked closer and held my hand out . The kangaroo came over to me hesitantly and ate the food. I awed and it peacefully stood infront of me and enjoyed the snack . The kangaroo rested its paws on my arm and just chilled.

I got every emotional. My dad always wanted to see a kangaroo in real life but then he got diagnosed with cancer and he never got the chance to see one. Its only been 4 months without my dad and it feels like i just lost him yesterday

I wiped my tears with my sleeve and admired the kangaroo." Just for you" i whispered and closed my eyes for a moment. I slowly retracted my hand from the kangaroo and walked off away from the group. I took my sunglasses off and wiped my eyes . I took slow deep breaths to just stop crying . Eddie came over to me with a sympathetic look on his face . He opened his arms and i hugged him tightly.  "let it out" he whispered rubbing my back. "I miss him so much , i just want him back " i sobbed as he comforted me.

"I think you shouldn't perform tonight Leana " he suggested and i shook my head. "I have to , people payed money to see me I can't just bail on them like that , I'll be fine i was just emotional this morning and seeing the kangaroo made me crack , I'll catch up in a few minutes i just want to call my mom quickly " i reassured him and he nodded and walked to the group.

I got my phone out and called my mom

Hello my sweet Angel how is it going? I miss you so much

Hey mom I'm surviving its been hard . i just had a whole breakdown at an animal sanctuary, im in Australia now with all of my friends.

Jeez further away from me , when will you come visit again , the house feels empty without you.

That the reason why I called was to ask if i can host our yearly family barbeque at my house , I'll probably bring one of my friends with me if you wouldn't mind

Of course you can , you know everyone will be so happy to see you again , who is the friend you're talking about

Don't worry about it,  I'll see you next week mom love you

I ended the call and walked back to the group.

"Sorry for ditching you guys for a moment"I explained and they all hugged me

We walked around more got a chance to take a photo with a koala."Im sorry to spoil the moment but we need to go I need to be early " i spoiled the moment and everyone agreed.  "Its totally fine we need to set up the house for the after party in any case , dont worry " Kristy reassured me and we soon left .
