Chapter 3

Arriving at school at 7am I spot Sara Ito the third year and ace of the team waiting at the gym doors on her phone.

"Ohayō Ito-Chan!" I chirp as I skip towards the blond haired girl.

"What's got you all happy this morning Nakamura-San?" She grumbles staring down at her phone.

"Oh you can just call me Ren!" I start off smiling at the girl. I then a deep breath my lungs taking in the fresh morning air. "Butt first off the weather is really nice and secondly we get to play volleyball!" I exclaim bouncing back and forth on my heels.

"Of course your excited," I hear her slightly mumble not being able to fully hear her.

"What did you say?" I ask turning my head sideways.

I watch as Ito let's out a groan looking up from her phone giving me an annoyed look. "I said that of course someone like you is excited at 7 am in the morning."

Someone like me?

"I- do you have a problem with me?" I straight up ask not wanting to ruin the friendship.

"If I'm being honest with you, yes I do," She bluntly admits moving closer to me.

We're basically inches apart from each other as her brown eyes pierce through my soul sending shivers down my body.

"I've been working my butt off for the last three years trying to get the spot of the ace then you waltz in with your "amazing" skills and may I add really rare sweeping everyone off their feet," She spits out glaring at me.

"I-I uh" I stutter not being able to get anything out of my mouth.

"What, have nothing to say little miss perfect?" She snarkly asks moving her head even closer to my face.

"I will not let some weirdo like you steal my spot as ace. I'll figure out who you really are Nakamura-San and you won't be happy," She grits out.

Taking a careful step back I watch as her face turns from a glare to a smile in a matter of seconds looking at something behind me.

"Ito-Chan, Naka-Chan!" I hear someone yell and turn to see Hina waving at us as she jogs towards us with the keys in her other hand.

"You girls are here quite early, why is that?" She asks standing in front of the two of us.

"Oh Nakamura-Chan and I decided to come early to help you set up," She smiles happily at the captain.

"Wow that's great girls! Glad to see some initiative from my two star players," She says ruffling both of our heads. "Alright let's go in to set up then!" Hina sings unlocking the gym doors.

Watching Hina and her walk in front of me the brown eyed lunatic turns her head around giving me a mischievous smirk before talking to the captain.

After an hour and half of practice I quickly rush to the girls changing room not wanting to even lock eyes with Ito. Every time I see her she would send a dirty look my way that sent shivers down my body.

Changing into my school uniform I tie back half of my medium length brown hair sticking a little bow in it.

Being satisfied with my look I grab my gym bag and backpack walking out of the change room and towards my class.

After last night I've gotten more used to where my classes are being able to not make one wrong turn.

Finally arriving with five minutes to spare I spot both Oikawa and Iwaizumi talking to one another.
