I swing my skate bag over my back and open the front door.
"See you later mum!" I yell as the door slams shut behind me.
As I turn the corner to my friend Elle's house, I bump right into her and we both fall backwards onto the hard pavement.
We look at each other and start laughing. Only this can happen to us.
We have been friends so long it's when moments like these happen that we can see the funny side.
Grabbing onto the fence beside me, I haul myself to my feet. Then I pull Elle up beside me and we rub the dirt off of our clothes.
"I was just coming to knock for you!" She exclaims.
"I was coming to knock for you!" I reply. "Come on, we're going to be late for practice!"
We start to sprint along the path towards the ice rink, because if we're late Coach Penny will kill us!
