hey! so this is a part two to my first clay x reader, so i recommend you read that before this part!

i opened my crystal eyes and saw a pair of dark ones staring right back at me, i instantly began remembering what had happened previously

"h-huh?" i jolted upwards, glancing left to right vigorously to make sure i was definitely back in reality

"mornin" i heard a familiar chuckle and turned around to see the tall figure, looking down on me, hands on his hips

"i-it's morning... already?" i scrambled off the ground and let out a huge yawn

he chuckled once more, "no, no! it's five... we slept for a while, huh?" i felt my face heat up as he winked at me

"y-yeah... i guess so..." i awkwardly shrugged. "i should probably-"

grrrrgleeee (i don't know how to type a stomach gurgle lmao •_•)

my eyes widened and i clutched onto my stomach in embarrassment. why did this always happen at the worst possible time?

"uhhh... s-sorry, pardon me. i should probably-"

"you're hungry, ain't you." he confirmed, crossing his arms smugly

to be honest, i was absolutely starving. i didn't really have enough time to eat breakfast as i was training early morning before my gym battle, so fixated on a victory

"uhh... y-yeah, but... i-i can just uhh..." i scratched the back of my head, trying to play this off

"come to my house? some dinner? Cam, it's late." he came in slightly closer, searching my face for an answer

"o-okay..." i timidly agreed, hardly being able to glance the man in the eye

he fixed his white cowboy style hat and smiled to himself warmly

"okay... well,we should get going... i'm also hungry..." he did his signature chuckle

i looked at him in awe. he always looked so happy and he had such a caring and warm aura. he really was great company

Clay's house wasn't too far away from his gym. it was a small cabin-like bungalow with cute flowers planted around it. it reminded me of him, humble and warm

"come on in, Cam." he held the door open for me as i climbed up his creaky porch steps and into his house.

"thank you..." i smiled appreciatively as he closed the door behind me.

a wave of warmth hit me as soon as i walked in. i really adored Clays house. his interior was mainly filled with wooden decor but it also had a western-touch to it

"well..." he sighed, "... this is it! it's not much, but..."

"...it's lovely." i whispered in awe

"why thank you!" i turned to face him, while he was hanging his brown leather waistcoat on the nearby coat hanger. "Cam? may i..." he pointed at my F/C jacket, which was absolutely drenched at this point. i unzipped it swiftly and handed it carefully towards him

"thank you." i bowed at him slightly

"ah, it's nothin' why don't you take a seat over there... the food won't be too long." he pointed towards a small wooden table with two chairs

"o-okay!" i followed his orders and went over to the dinner table, quickly sitting down into the seat, trying not to make too much noise, however.

"sit tight!" he said, walking past the table into another room, presumably the kitchen.

"Cam, you really do like your stew, huh?"

i heard a faint laugh as i clean housed my plate in the matter of minutes

"y-yeah... it reminded me of home... i was really hungry as well." i admitted, sheepishly looking down at my clean bowl

"so, speaking of home...where are you from originally?" i looked up to see Clay not touching his food, just staring at me, his chin resting on his hands

"oh... Nuvema town." i said, noticing the amount of attention i was getting

"ah!... makes sense, that's where the Professors lab is, hmmm." he seemed to get lost in his thoughts for a moment, "so, i'm guessing you chose U/S (unova starter) as your starter?"

i glanced down at my waistband, where U/S's pokeball was gleaming back at me.

"yes... i did." i nodded, smiling

"that's a good choice. i don't know if i'd ever be able to make such a decision... hehe..."

suddenly my eyes began to feel heavy again, i fully regretted the early morning training session now as it was beginning to take a toll on me, even though it did pay off in my gym battle

"Cam, you okay?" Clay noticed this instantly

i blinked a few times, trying to stay awake. "yeah just a bit-"

i cut myself off with a big yawn, slapping my hand over my mouth afterwards

"aww, Cam." he tilted his head, "you need to get some rest." he stood up and came around the table to stand beside me

"yeah... i g-guess it's time for me to g-go." i managed to speak out, as my vision became blurrier and blurrier

"Cam, i cant let you walk out late at night in this state, i suggest you spend the night."

honestly, i thought that was a very good idea at the time. i was about to crash at any second and even though i was sitting down my legs began to ache

"okay... i'll just sleep on the c-couch..." i whispered while trying to push myself up off the chair, which ultimately failed and i crashed back down into it

Clay tutted to himself and shook his head a few times, "don't be silly. you need to get to bed."

"n-no! it's, fi-"

the worlds biggest yawn erupted even causing Clay to back away a bit

"come on, let's get you to bed."

i felt two sturdy arms lift me up off the chair i was slumping in. the last thing i saw was Clays concerned face, his dark eyes looking straight ahead, i heard a light switch flip and the beaming light burned my eyes for a moment, but the horrible sensation was cut off with the feeling of being carefully
placed down on a soft mattress

"thank...you..." i whispered, as my eyes teared up and just like before, i felt myself being dragged into a huge slumber

"i-i hope she won't mind..." Clay whispered to himself as he judged the sleeping me curled up in a ball on his bed. "i'll be right next to you, Cam" he whispered to himself as he kicked off his boots next
to his bedroom door
