Chapter 01

The Beginning

"Gising na si Timothy, call a nurse!" If I am not mistaken, it was my Aunt Helena's voice.

Napakunot ang noo ko nang lumapit sa akin ang pinsan kong si Michael. "Bro, still remember me?"

What the hell?

I was about to response but I couldn't speak! Agad naman akong napatingin sa paligid. Am I in the Hospital? Why?

"Bro, hindi nga?" napatingin akong muli kay Michael sakto namang pagdating ng nurse at ng doctor.

May kung anong itinusok sa akin 'yung nurse while the doctor is talking to my Aunt. May sinasabi 'yung doctor na hindi ko masyadong marinig. It feels like there is something irritating inside my ear. I badly want to know what happened. Anong nangyari sa akin? And where's my mom and dad?

Nang makaalis ang doctor at nurse, I tried to open my mouth. "W-Where's—" man, why the hell I couldn't speak properly?!

"You're still recovering, Timo. Just... don't try to speak, okay?" Aunt Helena said.

I creased my forehead. Recovering from what?

"You've been in coma, Timo. For almost four weeks."

What?!

"Car accident, bro." Michael added. "Ano bang sabi ng doctor Ma?" tanong niya pa kay Aunt Helena.

"Hindi pwedeng biglain si Timo, there are still some things that he couldn't remember. Effect of a long long sleep, I guess? Just avoid making him surprise."

And then I remembered I was in the bar, enjoying... then Jericho told me that my parents was there too, looking for me. They caught me and followed my car. Not until a dump truck... Shit!

Where are they?! How are they?!

Napabangon ako ngunit naaparay din ako agad. "Naku, Timo. Dahan-dahan ka naman, baka mapano 'yung mga tahi mo."

Then what happened to me?! Bakit halos isang buwan akong tulog?

"Wh-Where's M-Mom... and D-Dad?" Finally. Nagawa kong magsalita!

Aunt Helena smiled. "Don't worry, Timo. They're fine. Tulog nga lang..."

"A-Anong nangyari s-sakin?" I thought I was in a car accident? Pero hindi naman ata ako iyon?

"I don't know what exactly happened tho. Pero ang sabi ng mga nakakita, right after mabangga ang sinasakyan nina Kuya, biglang na-out of control 'yung sinasakyan mo at dumeretso sa isang puno. That made you in coma."

Napasabunot ako sa sariling buhok. Pinigilan naman agad ako ni Aunt Helena. "It's not your fault, okay? At least, we've found you."

They've found me?

"Ma! Kailan ba makaka-discharge 'tong si Timo? Okay naman na siya." biglang sambit ni Michael.

"Nagmamadali ka ba?"

Maya-maya ay pumasok na mga doctor. Kinausap ulit nila si Aunt Helena. Hindi na ako interesado pa. Ang gusto kong malaman, ano 'yung sinabi ni Michael. Saan ba ako nanggaling?

Days passed by, nang masiguradong okay na ako ay napagpasyahan na rin nila akong iuwi na sa bahay. They said that it's just freaking four weeks but why does it feels like a year? Because seriously, I can't remember anything.

"Bro, nandito lang 'yung mga papel na binigay ni Mama. Instructions daw e. Una na 'ko." ani Michael nang matapos kaming mag-ayos dito sa kwarto ko.
