AFTER HER heartfelt talk with Matt last night, she had watched the comet with Fawkes' friends, who some of them were tolerable -- while others were not. The night had ended on a high note for the twins, and they went home happy. She sat on the grass outside the school with her brother and two of his friends, Matt and Tyler. The three football players were tossing a ball in between themselves as they talked.

A book was placed lazily on her lap as she flipped through it, half her attention on the conversation the other half on the book. Her bottom lip was caught between her teeth as she glanced back and forth between them,

Tyler snickered ad he spoke, "Look...there's Elena and her new boyfriend. Now, what are they doing? Oh, they're walking, walking, walking. Yep. Right into the sunset."

Matt shook his head as he tossed the ball to Fawkes, "You're a dick."

"Yeah, Ty, be nice." The warlock so ad as he threw it to the boy

"While you just stand there looking like one of those little yard trolls." The Lockwood boy added

Finch scoffed, "You're such a jerk, Lockwood." She stated as she shook his head while Matt correct his friends statement,

"Gnomes."

"Hey, what am I supposed to do, Ty? She made her choice." Matt said

Tyler shrugged, "Let her know she made the wrong one." He said as he caught the football

Matt watches as Tyelr looks between the ball and Stefan, "What are you doing? Ty, don't. Ty, don't! Ty!" Tyler throws the ball at Stefan, who has his back towards him. He quickly turns around, catches the ball, and throws it back to Tyler. The three boys looked shellshocked as Finch burst into laughter, her head thrown back as she held her stomach.

"Oh, that was priceless!" She exclaimed as tears welled in her eyes a snort passing through her lips as she continued to laugh at the boys, "I wish I had a picture!" Finch grinned

"Finch!" Elena called, waving the witch over, "Come over here!"

Her laughter ceased and raw confusion fell on her face, "Why?"

"Just come here!" Elena smiled

Finch turned towards her brother as she stood, "I have no idea what's happening but I'm terrified. If I don't come back just bury an empty casket." She said quickly as she plucked her bag from the ground walking towards Elena and Stefan

"Do you have plans tonight?" The girl asked with raised brows

The witch shook her, "I never do, why?"

"Do you wanna come have dinner? At my house?" The Gilbert girl questioned hopefully

"Why?"

"Are you always this paranoid?" Stefan asked curiously, his eyes confused

Finch nodded, "Usually."

"I want you to come. You seem interesting and I know your brother and he talks about you a lot and I wanna get to know you." Elena explained, still smiling

"Trust me, I'm about as interesting as Algebra."

Elena ignored this, "Will you come? Please?"

Finch ran a hand through her raven locks, "Pfft. I mean, I don't see the harm. And I can't deny free food." The girl muttered before shrugging, "Sure, I'll bring some baked goods. I bake, a lot."
The girl smiled, "I know. Fawkes usually shares what he brings."

"Okay, it's settled then." She said, "I'll see y'all t'night."

"See ya!"

Finch turned around her eyebrows furrowed together, "weird." She mumbled

"WORLD WAR II ended in

Tanner spoek again, "Pearl Harbor."

Tanner watched as Elena spoke to Stefan, "Miss Gilbert?"

Elena looked towards her teacher, "Hmm?"

"Pearl Harbor?" He repeated

Elena looked puzzled, "Um... "

The onlu vamlire in class came to her rescue, "December 7, 1941."

Stefan smiled, "Anytime."

"1950 to 1953."

"Ha! It ended in '52."

Finch grinned, "Uh, actually, sir, it was '53." She said

Tanner looekd frantic, "Look it up, somebody. Quickly."

"I have it right here." The girl said holding up the open book, "It was 1953."

The teacher snatched the boy from her grasp before dropping it into her desk, "So it seems." He said through gritted teeth, walking away from girl who was grinning triumphantly

Stefan looked at her shock, and she just tapped the side of her skull as she mouthed an answer, 'Photogenic memory.'

The vampire nodded as he turned back to the class where Tanner was begrudgingly holding in his anger as he continued to talk through a locked jaw.
