Chapter 7

My brother made himself comfortable by sitting next to me and handed me the bottle. When I turned my head to see him, he had a teasing grin on his face.

"Bhai stop it", I whined.

"To stop what? I didn't do anything as of now" he replied innocently.

"But your stupid grin is saying something else," I asked him.

"Oh, that one. You see I have a sister who challenged my family and me that she won't be looking at anyone and no one will look at her. Whatever she said didn't happen. I even noticed her looking at him for a long time and the guy too looking her" he replied grinning.

I was about to counter-attack him when we heard someone shout. To be precise it was the old man who was with the mystery man. He kept on shouting ' I won ', and all the people in the park were looking at them.

The old man whispered something to the other man...not the mystery man.....then the other man too started shouting ' I'm getting a bhabhi'. Looking at them jumping like kids it made me cracked up...all of them in the park were laughing, looking at those three.

'How cute they look'

I continued laughing till there was no energy left in me and the mystery man was looking sort of embarrassed. He was trying to stop them but those two wouldn't stop shouting. While laughing too I sensed his gaze on me. After becoming sober my brother said "Those guys are funny"

"Indeed they're" I replied and smiled thinking about them.

"Okay kiddo let's go...it's already 8...let's go before mom bury us alive," my brother said.

"Yea let's go", was my reply.

We got up and started walking towards our car. I wanted to look at his face clearly, so I started searching for him. But I guess luck was not on my side, they have already left.

"Looking for someone" I heard my brother say in a teasing manner.

'Shit not now..that too in his presence'

"Nope..no one brother...shall we leave...I need to rest...I'm feeling so tired...I think I'll directly plop myself on the bed", I replied, faking a yawn.

"Escaping the situation I see....you won't sleep today sister...because you have to say us where you are going for your interview and our family is gonna roast you today to no end. I think they even would have said this to dadu and dadi .....pfft...I guess the whole family knows", he replied.

"Shit. I'm so dead...stupid me...why did I even look at that side." I hit my forehead.

"It was bound to happen sister. I even watched the guy seeing you. It was the same way nani described. He was looking good though. I came past them ..I think you saw the guy in a white shirt with a rolled-up sleeve?" he questioned me.

"I didn't get a clear picture of him though..but yea the one with rolled up the sleeve" I replied and I bit my tongue realizing what I said.

"I see. Someone said to me that they didn't get a clear picture of him...but gotta know he has rolled up sleeve," he asked raising his one eyebrow in perfect arch-shaped manner.

"Ok fine you won...I was looking at them...precisely at the mystery man...happy now", I slapped my forehead this time... I really need to have control over my mouth.

"Ahem..ahem..mystery man....you even gave a nickname to him...not bad...kiddo"

"Shut up brother...it's just a nickname...anyways I'm not gonna see him again..so nothing."

"Let's see...I think you'll see him for sure..that too very soon", he replied. "But did you hear them shouting, the old man was shouting ' I won ' and the guy was shouting 'I'm getting a bhabhi' "

"Yea " I just whispered, 'I'm getting a bhabhi' I couldn't help but I felt a pang in my heart hearing it.

'Don't ask me why...I just felt it...god what is happening to me...I didn't have a chance to see his face....okay now I'm completely turning mad '

"Oh hello...I'm calling you for last 3 minutes...you're not responding...dreaming about him..but you didn't see his face, then how?? did you feel bad when the guy shouted ' I'm getting a bhabhi'.....so you like him...wow that's super fast...and they don't jump into conclusion, maybe he shouted after sensing the mystery man's gaze on you...it could be you too" my brother kept on rumbling.

"That's it. Now enough. Whatever happens, let destiny decide. And don't you dare say this details to them" I threatened for the last part.

"Okay, but we have to say the part, 'where you looked at the guy and he looked at you'?? "

"Just that part and not any other part...deal?" I asked him.

"Okay..it's a pact between the siblings. So no one is gonna break the rules." He said and I nodded my head at him.

" But you know what Akru.....I have a gut feeling that he'll be my future brother-in-law" he teased me.

"Shut up and now start the car...we been here for more than 15 minutes," I said, he grinning like a fool and started the car.

We started our journey towards home when a thought suddenly crossed my mind,

'Shit I lost the bet .....God ...how am I going to handle my family'

I heard some people clearing their thought.

'Shit'

I cursed myself for being caught. I turned around saw that Daksh had a teasing smile on his face whilst dadu was smirking.

" Got caught, did we??" asked dadu in a teasing manner and started laughing. They both continued to laugh, I turned my head to have a last look at her beautiful face, but I got disappointed when I didn't see her.

'Wtf are you thinking Veer, just erase all the thoughts about her from you' said my mind.

'But she's a beautiful memory to be erased. Remember her face gave you a feeling of peacefulness.' Counter-attacked my heart.

"Stop...just stop" I shouted. Hearing my shouts again they both started laughing.

"Someone is turning into lover boy" they both sang.

" Nothing like what you guys are thinking. okay?" I replied to them and went towards the driver's seat.

"Buddy we can sit peacefully because your friend's anger has vanished now," said my dadu. And Daksh nodded and chuckled in response. Shaking my head at them I asked them to enter the car.

' It's true that she made your anger vanish' said my both heart and mind. Remembering her face bought an instant smile on my face, with that I ignited the car and drove towards my home.

While these two started singing 'Ek ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga' by Darshan Raval.

Well, it suited my situation though.
