Elliot's POV

"Stupid little - who does he think - Argh!"

I kicked some nearby snow, sending it flying where the Rogue once stood, with his stupid face, and his stupid aura-

I kicked some more snow, and my pack members finally began staring at me as if I had gone crazy. The medical wolves had already taken the wounded wolf away, but I couldn't help but remain there, brooding. Marley finally had enough and rested her hand on my shoulder. "Elly. . . that's enough. He's gone now. Time to rein your pack members in", Marley said, gesturing to my wolves. They had now crossed our territory, and was sniffing the path that the Rogue took on his back to wherever he came from. Some had ventured even further than that, apparently trying to track him down.

"Moonshine!"

Everyone's head turned in my direction.

"That's enough."

They all stopped what they were doing, and came towards me. I still had to get used to sheer obedience my pack members already had, despite only being a Luna for such a short time. I was about to turn around, until I sensed a familiar Aura nearby.

"It looks like we were too late."

I turned to the familiar voice, and tilted my head in confusion.

"Alpha Michael?"

Alpha Michael, along with his mate, greeted me at the edge of my territory.

"Were we supposed to have another meeting? Wait, did someone spot my Vulcans again? Cuz' I'm not in control of them anymore-"

"Unfortunately, that's not what we're here for. . . You were visited by a Rogue, weren't you?"

My brow furrowed.

"How did you know? Did you meet him?"

"No, but I was informed that he had entered the area a few minutes ago. Based on the direction he was heading, we predicted he was heading to your territory."

I frowned.

"The rogue claimed that one of my fellow pack members had attacked them."

Alpha Michael's facial expression changed considerably.

"If that is true, then one of your members may have picked a fight with the second-largest syndicate in the Eastern Territory."

I sighed. Never a dull moment.

I turned to Marley, and, as if she read my mind, gave me a look that said, 'I'll deal with the pack.'

"Follow me. . . I think I know someone who could get us the answers we need right now."

I headed straight to the medical tent, and asked the first medical wolf I could find for directions to the wounded wolf from earlier. As I headed in the direction instructed to me by the wolf, I glanced back at Alpha Michael. "The rogue earlier said something about a 'Doctor'?"

"He's called the 'Doc', the leader of a large yet nameless Rogue syndicate, and the biggest producer of narcotics on the entire continent."

I folded my arms.

"Is he strong?"

"That's the thing. . . we're not sure."

"Not sure?"

"People that have met him claimed that he barely had an Aura."

Interesting.

"T-the rogue earlier was pretty strong. I can't believe that a Rogue at that level will follow a wolf weaker than itself."

Even though Rogues reject the leadership of wolf packs, and most prefer to live on their own,  there's still a pecking order.

If you're too weak, you won't make it very far on your own. The rogues that need protection would seek that protection from the stronger rogues, forming small groups called wolf gangs. They used the authority behind the leader's name in order to stay safe, and the leader, in turn, uses them as he sees fit.

"Not unless he has some sort of leverage over them. Most of his Rogues are probably hooked on his concoctions."

I hummed, then stopped in the area where he was supposed to be tended to. As I started searching for the male amongst our group of wounded wolves, a strange thought made me frown to myself.

'Am I forgetting something?'

I shook my head, then turned to the Alpha.

"By the way, why did you all decide to come here?"

Alpha Darin folded his arms, still looking around.

"The Doc is not just your issue. We made it clear to hostile Rogues that they couldn't enter the territory without some sort of permission. Not only did they break this agreement, but they also attacked one of our own. We can't allow this to escalate."

I hummed, before stuffing my hands into my pockets.

I finally sensed the weakened aura of the wolf in question, and headed in that direction. At the same time, a hooded female crossed my path, almost colliding with me. "Ah, sorry-"

She paused, as if now recognizing who I was.
