The clans stood stoic and poised, awaiting their deaths. They had hoped their numbers would hinder Maria- but the mistress would wait for nobody. She knew what she wanted.

Together, they had trained heartedly for the past weeks with Jasper taking strong lead. However, their newly found skills would not stop her. She knew what she wanted.

Determinedly, they stood, as a unit. Red and Gold eyes scanning the white, willow woods. Maria knew what she wanted. Her majors by her side once more.

On the cold, winters eve, the thundering footsteps of the army could be heard in the distance. Clans shared looks and mates shared heavy gazes. Thump. Thump thump. Thump. Thump thump. Like a heartbeat, the steps fell into synchronisation and all to soon they tore through the tree line- Maria at the front, leading for once. Strangely, she looked hesitant as she scanned the crowd once, then twice and even three times. Whatever she found, or didn't, caused her face to morph into an expression of shock and undiluted fury as she sprang up her smooth arm. No scars showing battle despite her history- showing her true self. A coward.
"Where is that Isabella!" she spat venomously as she scoured the woods and sniffed the air cautiously. "Where is the brat? Answer me this instant, Major,". Understandably, Jasper fought not to submit to her murderous glare that reminded him of so many torturous evenings and fights. So many had list their lives acting as pawns in a too deadly game.
"You'll not find her here, Maria" he replied coolly.
"Fools!" Maria bellowed. "Her and the two pathetic lugs you cowardly allowed to escape,". The mention of Jasper's two 'siblings' hitting him hard. They were the last people he fought would abandon theming when times got tough. Peter and Charlotte made no effort to reply to the Major's pleas of help.
"Why are you here?" questioned Carlisle quite harshly for the compassionate surgeon.
Maria cackled "I want my Majors back with both of them by my side we'd be simply unstoppable. Such a force to reckon with even the Volturi would have to submit to our terror!". Taken aback by the one major short sight of the opposition, Maria stalked the boundary between the sides in puzzlement. "She's close, Isabella is. I wouldn't believe for a second she would leave her precious Cullen's behind. I can't begin to tell you how much I got out of her by using you as a threat. It was wonderful!" the Hispanic smirked smugly.
"You're a monster," Edward growled in response to both her words and thoughts. Memories upon memories of her tearing into Bella's skin as 'punishment' flooded his mind. Days, weeks, months without blood in her newborn years.
"Aahh! A telepath. How marvellous. You'd be a wonder in my army. Isabella was just so... fun to play with. So hard to crack, you know. I'd learnt a lot from her. Did you know if you're cut deep enough as a human the scar can remain through the transformation,". Deep growls of anger resounded through the clearing.
"What did you do to her?" Edward snapped in question.
"Enough talk! if I can't have her I shall settle with bring each and everyone of you you to your demise!". With the awaited command, Newborns began to hurl forwards. This was it.
