Rain drops ran down the pane of glass as if racing each other to the bottom. He's gone. Unaware of time passing I sat in the rocking chair that E...ed.. HE sat in at night, looking miserably at the matching miserable weather that constantly haunted forks. Rain fell. Leaves fell. Green turned to orange, to yellow, to red. Snow fell. Covering the garden with a pure, flawless blanket of snow. He's gone. The voice had yet to return also.
Functioning without THEM was useless. Painful even. So I shut the world out. Doctors and visitors come and go. All come with the same hope of returning me to the real world. All leave with the same disappointment of their failure. He's gone. It hurt to watch, especially people I knew, gaze upon my withering frame with pity and sadness. Jacob, my childhood friend, had desperately attempted to 'bring me back to life' but once I knew about his own involvement with the supernatural the reminders were too much.
Day and night after another was the same repeated pattern. Charlie marches upstairs to check on my never improving progress with dwindling hope. He's gone. Then happily leaves for work ( grateful for any escape from my misery that clouded the house like rain clouded forks). Not even attempting to force me to go school as he already knew what I would do there. Nothing. He's gone. Next arriving back from work-that seems to have extended time-wise- to trudge into my room with a plate of food I wouldn't touch. He's gone. Finally, sleep would eventually win the battle and the nightmares begin.
Until one day, Charlie pauses outside the heavy, oak door instead of immediately poking his head through. Slowly, he plonked over to my side by the window.
"Bella. Bella, please. Show me you're there!" Charlie pleads whilst tears collect in his eyes. " I can't do THIS anymore. I'm sorry, Bella. Remember I love you! That is why I'm doing this,". What does that mean? What is he doing? He's gone. Men rush into the room and grab my arms. Dragging me outside, I couldn't help but spot the white van on the driveway. Charlie's sending me away! No. Angered I lifted my betrayed gaze to Charlie's saddened one. How could he?
"Dad!! No, don't do this!"
" I have to baby girl. I.. I don't know what to do. What CAN I do? I just want you back. The real you not this shell of yourself. I'm so.. So sorry Bella" he cried. He's gone. Gone. Fight, Bella! You cannot go with them no matter what! Do anything you can just DON'T go with them. Do something quick ! the voice had returned. It must only come when I need it the most.
"Dad! I'll try. i'll try harder! just please don't do this. Don't send me away!" I was desperate. Fork was my home. What if... No Bella he's gone.
"You don't get it Bella. I can't bear to watch you try. It hurts me to watch you suffering knowing I can't do anything to help you. Be a good girl. I love you" Charlie whispered sadly to me. NOOOOOOO!! The voice screeched loudly as I ceased fighting and allowed the men to drag me into the back of the van. As the van retreated quickly from the house, I couldn't help but think that that would be the last time I would see the house ,see charlie. He's gone. I'm truly alone now. Isolated.
