Chapter 5

"I....I got to use the bathroom." I said and left the office. I knew this place very well and went to my favourite spot that was hidden behind the hospital. I always used to go there with Wendy whenever Taeyeon was admitted to hospital for days at a time. Most of the time, it would be after Jungmin hit her too hard or threatened her with a knife.

I went there and sat down, putting my face in my hands and started crying.

Seulgi's Pov

Once Yuri had taken down Aunt Taeyeon's details, I said, "I'm going to check if Irene is okay". Mom nodded.

I was sure that Irene would probably go back to the car. I walked to where the car was parked but I heard someone call my name. I turned around and saw Wendy running toward me. "Seulgi, what's going on?" She said as she reached me.

"Aunt Taeyeon is in the emergency room. She hit her head and was bleeding a lot. I'm looking for Irene." I said. "Come with me, I know where she is. She used to always go there with me." Wendy said. I was confused as to why it seemed like Mom, Wendy and Irene came here regularly, but I just followed Wendy and didn't ask anything.

She led me to behind the hospital and I saw Irene sitting against the wall with her face in her hands.

"Irene unnie, what's wrong?" Wendy asked and rushed to hug her. I did the same. Irene hugged me. "Aunt Taeyeon is going to be fine. It's okay." I said. "Who cares. Taeyeon got Aunt Fany to worry about her." Irene said. Wendy was shocked.

"Irene, your mother is in hospital. How are you not worried?" Wendy asked. "She isn't my mother." Irene said. "What do you mean? And mom is alone there, I really hope she is okay. We need to check if she is okay." I said. "You can go then. I don't think Aunt Tiffany would want to see me." Irene replied.

"Wait, Tiffany as in Auntie Tae's best friend who moved to America?" Wendy asked. I nodded. "Irene come on, we both know that Aunt Tiffany isn't strong enough to get through this on her own." Wendy said. I was again confused but didn't say anything. "She won't want to see me anyway." Irene said.

"Irene, what happened in the living room? What happened that caused all of this?" I asked.

Irene's Pov

"Irene, what happened in the living room? What happened that caused all of this?" Seulgi asked. I stayed silent. "You can explain while we are walking. I want to meet Aunt Tiffany." Wendy said.

Seulgi and I also got up. "Now please can you explain what happened." Seulgi said. I broke down and explained what happened. By the time I had finished telling them what had happened, I was crying so much that we had to stop walking.

"Its okay Irene. None of this is your fault. Everything will be okay. I'm sure Auntie Tae had her reasons for lying. She is normally very honest so she must have had a good reason to lie." Wendy said. She had a point but I still didn't want to admit it. "Are you okay now?" Wendy asked. I nodded.

"Come on, let's go check on Mom." Seulgi said. Me and Wendy nodded and we started walking back to the hospital.

Tiffany's Pov

I cried with my face in my hands. Taeyeon kissing me seemed like a million years ago. All the events that brought me to this point in time flashed through my mind. The noise of the hospital seemed distant. It's been so long since I've done this but it seemed like a routine that I was trying to break away from. And at one point it was a routine, when Taeyeon was married to Jungmin.

I heard someone say my name. I looked up and saw Seulgi and Irene, with someone I recognised as Irene's best friend, Wendy. "Aunt Tiffany, are you okay? Irene told me what happened." Wendy said. I hugged her tightly. "I'm worried Wendy." I whispered in English as I hugged her. "Its okay Aunt Tiffany. She is going to be okay. It's not the end. I promise." Wendy replied. I smiled as we broke apart. Wendy was like my daughter before I left, and she was also the only one who knew about my feelings for Taeyeon.
