Chapter 5

It was Saturday morning and Taeyeon and Irene were eating breakfast. Irene kept checking her phone. "Honey, why are you checking your phone so often?" Taeyeon asked. "I...it's nothing mom. I'm just waiting for someone to reply." Irene said. "By the way Irene, you look......different. Something's different....I can't seem to notice what it is though....something's missing." Taeyeon said thoughtfully.

"I thought you wouldn't notice." Irene said with a chuckle. "Wait, you aren't wearing your glasses. That's what's missing. But don't you feel more comfortable wearing them? I thought you hated being cat called when you went out." Taeyeon said. "I do. But I want Seu-I just feel more bold today." Irene said. Taeyeon looked at Irene suspiciously. "That's good." Taeyeon said.

"Mom, could I ask for a favour?" Irene said. "Sure. What is it honey?" Taeyeon replied. "Umm....I...I want Seulgi to take me to a street market." Irene said shyly. "But you don't like it there." Taeyeon said. "I know but I want to be alone with Seulgi for a while....because I want to get to know her. And she used to go to street markets a lot with her friends where she used to live so I want to go with her to one so she doesn't miss them as much." Irene said. "Interesting. Okay I'll help you honey." Taeyeon said with a knowing smirk. "Thank you mom. I love you so much." Irene said. "I love you too honey."

"Irene-ah, you're really pretty today." Seulgi said as she got out of the car. Irene looked down so Seulgi wouldn't see her blushing. "Thanks, Seul." Irene said "So do you". Seulgi smiled and got into the car after Irene. "You aren't wearing your glasses today. Are you feeling confident today? I thought you didn't like the counciling." Seulgi said. "That's not what made me confident though." Irene replied, smiling.

"It isn't? Then what is? It's a bit bold for you to go out not wearing your glasses." Seulgi said. "You said I look pretty without my glasses, so I guess that made me more confident. I used to get cat called when I didn't wear them." Irene said.

Taeyeon got in the car and Tiffany stared at her. "Hey babe." Tiffany said. "Don't call me that." Taeyeon said. "Why?" asked Tiffany. "Because you should call me tonight instead." Taeyeon said with a smirk. "Is that seriously the best you got? Where did you even get that from?" Tiffany asked.

"You smiled, I saw that you smiled for a second. And I learned it from Wendy, who loves teasing Irene with pick-up lines." Taeyeon replied. "Of course she's behind this." Tiffany said as she started driving.

"Taeyeon, do you want to go anywhere else?" Tiffany asked. She was just aimlessly driving while they decided where to go next. "Let's go to the street market. Seulgi said it's really hot so she and Irene can go and buy some ice-cream." Taeyeon said. Tiffany nodded. The street market wasn't very far so in 10 minutes, they were there.

"Seulgi, didn't you want ice-cream? Why don't you go with Irene to buy some? The street market is very quiet today so I'm sure Irene would love to go." Taeyeon asked as Tiffany parked the car. "Yes, Seulgi, come on, quickly." Irene said excitedly, tugging lightly on Seulgi's arm. "Okay, come on. Bye mom, we will be back in about half an hour." Seulgi said and got out of the car. Irene leaned forward and kissed Taeyeon on the cheek. "I love you Taeyeon eomma. Thanks for helping me. Bye Aunt Fany." She said and got out of the car. She then held Seulgi's hand and practically dragged her into the street market.

Taeyeon giggled. "Help her? What are you two up to, Taetae?" Tiffany asked suspiciously. Taeyeon smiled. "She wanted to be alone with Seulgi for a while but she was too shy to say so in front of you and Seulgi." She said. "That is really cute. You don't think....?" Tiffany tailed off, knowing that Taeyeon knew what she was trying to say. "Maybe. But I don't think Irene can be besties with anyone other than Wendy." Taeyeon said. Tiffany giggled.
