Hey, how are you? I hope you are having a good day. If not, I'm here for you if you need to talk and give a virtual hug if you need one. I know it's hard being yourself but, keep pushing through. It's a long journey but at the end, you will feel proud and happy with yourself. You may still hate yourself at times, which I understand and it may happen to me too. Just know that you are not alone and, there are many people who are on this journey as well. Let us all unite and take this journey together.
Alrighty let's get down to this. I know some of you maybe wondering what are the do's and don'ts of binding, even though you may have heard them thousands of times. I'm sorry if it's repptive but, your safety is important and I don't want you to hurt yourself. So, here we go.
Binding Safety:
1. DO NOT USE ACE BANDAGES!!( I know you have probably heard this about a million times but, it's important. If you use ace bandages, you will crack your ribs and really hurt yourself. So, please don't use them.)
2. Never wear a binder to bed(if you absolutely have to, put a shirt on in between your binder and your skin. But otherwise, do not wear it to bed cause it will cause extreme discomfort. If you accidentally do, just don't wear it the next day and give your chest a break. I know it may be hard to do that but, would you rather damage yourself and not be able to get teetus deleteus(top surgery)? No, of course you wouldn't want that. So, just try not to do it.
3. Don't wear your binder for more than 8 hours. Same will happen with wearing it to bed. If you do, put a heating pad on after you take your binder off. I find that heat helps a little bit with easing the pain.
4. For binders you can find them on Amazon, Underworks etc. If you are like me and unable to buy one yourself, two sports bras will work fine.
5. When binding make sure to wear baggy clothes or hoodies so, you pass more effectively/easily.
6. Stay Safe, and stay you. Happy Pride🌈
Please let me know if you have any questions or want me to add anything.
