Holiday is over
Folks are back at work
Sit upon my deck
Let my feelings perk
Like old coffee pot
Perking on stove top
Feelings boiling up
Under deck's rooftop
Let bad feelings drain
Down into dark soil
Microbes break down woe
Quiets inner toil
Colors of our earth
Brown, green, blue and white
Yellow, pink and red
Warms my inner sight
Nature can be harsh
Challenges our lives
But her gifts sustain
Adapt and we'll survive
