Zoro's POV
I can't believe what I just heard! I thought that Carly's father cared about her, at least from the stories she's told, but he just threatened her to never speak of the truth. Carly shouted something about loving someone that caught all our attention. I never thought that she would be one to admit romantic feelings at all, and worse right before they plan to kill her. Morgan stared at her and frowned,
"Oh really and just who would a savage pirate like you love?" He asked putting emphasis on the word pirate. Her cheeks turned red and she smiled,
"Recently I met someone who showed me what a real pirate is. He showed me that I didn't need to be ruthless and it's okay to help other people and be friends, but I treated him badly and I feel like I don't deserve him at all. Maybe you're right.........maybe I really was a savage who doesn't deserve anything." She mumbled softly after announcing her love. Her description sounded a lot like how we started off, but there's no way. Luffy looked over at me and shook me to pull me out of my thoughts.
"I don't care what she said, we are gonna help her! You coming?" He whispered harshly. I nodded and we slowly made our way back over to her while Morgan was facing his men instead of us. Carly gave us distressed looks as we tried to untie her from the post. We finally got it down and Morgan still hasn't turned around. I grabbed her hand and slowly walked away while luffy, Usopp, and Nami all found us a silent way out. Suddenly Carly and I were the only ones still in the yard and Morgan turned around. His eyes were practically fuming with anger as he clenched his fists.
"Roronoa Zoro, I never thought that I would see you here again. Now move away from the girl so I can kill her." He insisted as I stood my ground. I slowly let go of Carly's hand and pulled out my swords while placing one in my mouth.
"If you wanna get to her, then you'll have to go through me." Morgan went to attack before Luffy's fist flew through the air knocking him out cold and giving us time to get away. As we ran to the boat to get to the others I kept hearing Carly mumble the words thank you over and over again. I smiled, I was glad that she was okay. Once we got back to the others Nami giggled,
"Oo look they're already holding hands!" We both looked down at our hands and pulled them away from each other. I don't know what had come over me, I guess it was just the heat of the moment. We all looked over at Carly and she was.. smiling.
"Thank you all... you guys made me realize that I'm not meant to be a Captain. I had a good run, but I don't think that bossing people around is really the best thing that I could be doing." She looked up and laughed before continuing, "as of now I don't think that I could ever be a great Captain like Luffy is, so I'm gonna leave my crew, without telling them of course because I don't want to upset them any more. I'm guess I'll just go on my own from here, but I hope to see you all again!" She explained. She took her hat off and handed it to Luffy,
"I want you to have this." Was all she said before turning around to walk away. I ran up behind her and put my hand on her shoulder to turn her towards me. She looked up into my eyes and I smiled before pulling her into a hug. She paused, her arms hanging down as I held her in the hug. She waited for a minute before bringing her arms around me. It felt like she was never hugged before when she stood their like that which made me squeeze her even tighter. We pulled away and I held her shoulders as she looked up at me.
"I have a better idea for what you can do!" I exclaimed with more emotion than usual.
