•you had known skip since you were seven years old
•this cutie had climbed a tree and scared the shit out of you as you walked by. you jumped like four feet into the air. even at seven years old you were cussing him out
•after that he seemed to love to follow you wherever you went. it was so cute but you hated it. you despised him
•as time passed you became accustomed to him. you always knew when he was around. you could feel his presence. it was odd but maybe that's what it felt like to have your soulmate near you
•the two of you constantly bickered about the dumbest things. it was difficult to have a conversation with the two of you. your energy just bounced off of his. it was like two puppies interacting
•you kept skip grounded. he listened to you and you would tell him if he was being too much. you were able to keep him under control
•skip knew how to calm you down if you were angry or in distress
•you fell in love with him at age thirteen and everyone had seen it coming. skip had confessed his love to you the day you had met so everyone kinda knew something would happen between the two of you
•as young teens you'd both walk down the street holding hands, skip would bring you ice cream, you were never seen without the other, you were either at your house or at skips house, you'd help one another with school work

•skip proposed to you at age nineteen in your bedroom. you were sat at your vanity and skip was laying on his stomach on your bed. you were brushing your hair as skip staring at you lovingly. as he stared at you he blurted it out
•"god you're perfect. let's get married."
•you didn't even hesitate before telling him that he was off his rocker and then agree to the engagement
•you didn't get to marry skip before he enlisted in the airborne in august of 1942
•it broke your heart to see him off but you had followed him down to georgia. he lived in a barrack but you rented a house. if he was lucky enough to get a weekend pass he'd take you dancing or the two of you would just hang around in the park or in your backyard
•he was constantly boasting about you to the other men in his company. they had apparently learned a lot about you. a little too much in fact
•you and skip eloped in maine one weekend. he used his weekend pass correctly. you had the best weekend of your life. you sobbed into his shoulder when he had to return to camp toccoa
•he definitely teased you about that. "you cussed me out when we met but now you're latched onto me like a toddler." you slapped him. he never mentioned it again
•you moved back up to new york and were lucky enough to see him off when he left for england. this time you actually latched yourself onto him. you hugged him so tightly and just wouldn't let go
•skips best friends (don malarkey, alex penkala, and george luz) tried their hardest to pry you off him but you just wouldn't budge. it might've been a cute sight but honestly it was just breaking skips heart. he didn't want to leave you and he knew when he left you wouldn't be the same without him and you weren't
•you moped and walked around town looking so down & blue. you rarely chatted with anyone. you didn't exactly eat. you were depressed
•you lived for skips letters. they were so entertaining to you. he had some of the most amazing stories. you'd cry for hours because you missed him so much
•luckily for you he was injured in bastogne and got to come home to you. you tackled him on the pier. alex was right behind him and you tackled him too
•you were so glad to see the both of them. your whole mood and personality changed when skip came home to you. he was the greatest thing to happen to you. you helped him get better and frequented alex's house
•soon the war had ended and everything had begun to go back to how things were
