"Now, I'll be home very late tonight, Doll, but remember Caiden Mitchell? We had lunch at his father's home a few weeks ago." Dale sat Kimberly down on the couch, explaining how tonight would go.

"I do." Kimberly nodded.

"Well he'll be checking in on you around 12 tonight, okay? He'll have a key so don't worry about staying awake. I'm trusting him to make sure my little doll is okay. He's even going to pick you up some food if you get hungry." Dale smiled slightly.

"He seems really nice." Kimberly commented. "This is because of that late night job you were telling me about, right?" The girl tilted her head to the side in question.

"Yes, dolly. But on Sunday I get the full day off so we can go shopping if you'd like?" Dale loved to spoil his little girl, he thought he deserved everything she ever wanted and he tried his hardest to do that.

"You don't have to buy me stuff to say sorry, Daddy. I understand why you work, it's okay." Kimberly shook her head and smiled. She was very understanding and wanted the best for everyone in life, not just herself.

"Well, maybe we can get you another stuffed animal? Or another dress? Maybe some shoes?" Dale listed some things that were possible to buy.

"Daddy." Kimberly sighed and shook her head.

"Babygirl, we are going to go shopping on Sunday, get some nice lunch, get some treats and a movie to watch later in the night, and you're going to pick out anything you like, okay?" Dale raised his brows with a cheeky smile.

"Fine." Kimberly giggled. "But you're going to get some new dress shirts too, you've been swapping between the same two for as long as I can remember. And some new ties you need."

"You can help me choose."

"Deal." Kimberly shook her fathers hand making him chuckle.

"I really must be leaving soon. Can't be late on my first day." Dale chuckled and went to find his shoes.

"I'll miss you." Kim propped her knees up to her chest and rested her head on them. She was wearing one of her fathers button-up shirts. Dale had lots of shirts but only had two that he actually enjoyed wearing leaving the rest for Kimberly to lounge about in.

"I won't be long, I'll be back before you even know it." Dale came back in the living room, his shoes in hand. He took a seat on the couch opposite Kimberly to put them on. "You could watch a few movies downstairs on the big tv? There's food in the kitchen if you get peckish. I must be going now though, babe. I'll be home around 3:30, okay? If you fall asleep I'll see you in the morning."

"Good luck, I hope you impress them." Kimberly smiled and wished her father well.

"If you need anything give me a call, okay sweetheart?" Dale kissed his daughter's forehead and gave her a quick hug.

"I will. Have fun." Kim smiled and waved her father goodbye before he left and locked the door behind him.

Kimberly sighed and laid back on the couch. What am I supposed to do now? Kimberly puffed out her cheeks, already feeling bored.

Considering Kimberly didn't go to public school she didn't exactly have friends, the only person she could ever spend time with was her father, and now he was gone.

During the day when Dale worked Kimberly spend most of her time doing school work and skincare, but she had already done all those things so no longer had anything to do.

Kimberly decided she'd go up in her dad's room and take a look through her mother's things. Kimberly didn't remember much of her mother except the stories her father had told her.
