The young girl was home alone. It was exactly 3:32pm and her father was at work. Kimberly was left alone often due to her father working but once he arrived back home they always spent quality time together to make up for it anyway so she didn't mind.

Except this time Kimberly was struggling with something. As some would say it was Kimberly's time of the month which she struggled awfully with. She checked all around the bathroom but there were only two sanitary towels left, she must have practically ran out last month and forgot to re-stock.

She grumbled some angry words to herself once she realised she now had to get dressed and go to the store. She hated going to the store alone. Especially when on her period.

She made her way to her closet, rubbing her tummy with a pout on her face at the same time. She starred at the large array of clothes she had, she didn't know what she wanted to wear, she just knew it had to be cute.

Somethings about Kimberly, she could be dying but she'd still want to make sure her outfit looks cute and appropriate. She could even make sweats and a hoodie look cuter than intended if she tried.

Her eyes caught sight of a yellow hoodie and immediately she knew what she wanted to wear. She took the yellow hoodie out of her closet and threw it on her bed, next she reached for her black skater skirt and her yellow knee high socks. The hoodie had large floppy bunny ears making her smile slightly as she pulled it over her small frame.

She pulled on the rest of her clothes and tamed her hair in two ponytails at the top of her head figuring it would match the bunny theme. Lastly she put on a pair of black doc martins, opting for a comfier shoe to take a walk with.

She slowly walked downstairs and opened the small safe, taking £20 of the money her dad leaves for when Kim is home alone before leaving the house, desperate to get home and jump straight into bed and possibly take a nap.

Once arriving at the store she decided actually being there was worse than the thought. Why are there so many people?

She rushed to find the things she needed, picking up two pack of pads first and then turned on her heels looking for the chocolate isle, deciding she deserved some chocolate.

She looked left then right down each isle in search for the candy but her eyes caught onto a different, more colourful isle. Stuffies.

She decided to take a detour and take a look, she had time. Almost immediately she saw a carrot with big eyes and little arms and legs smiling at her. Ohh he's adorable I need him. She thought to herself.

She bit her lip and stepped forward, checking the price. £9. She added up the price of her necessities which came to £12 leaving her pouty and a little grumpy. She was £9 off, she only brought a twenty and it wasn't like she could put the pads back.

She made a small whimper before lifting the cute carrot in her arms and giving it a squeeze. "I'll come back to get you soon, maybe daddy'll buy you for me." She whispered before placing him sadly back on the shelf.

She dug through her pockets one more time checking if there was any spare change in her hoodie pockets. She pulled out her hands, in them was her phone, the £20 bill, an old receipt that clearly never got taken out and an odd paperclip which confused her very much.

She started down at her small, open hands still with a pout. Then a larger hand placed something in hers. The hand was older, there was a small sign of ageing on the skin as well as veins popping out of his his hands which lead up to the sweater sleeve that was rolled up to his elbows.

She watched the hand as it moved away, unsure what to do. She could feel a presence behind her. The unknown man gave her a pound. What?

She span around, gaze still set on her hands. "Excuse me mister but I can't take this." She pushed her hand out toward the man she was yet to look up at from nervousness.

"Take it, I can see you want the stuffie." The familiar voice spoke.

Kimberly shot her head up to be faced with no other than Robert Mitchell. "O-oh, Mr. Mitchell, I didn't- I wasn't expecting to see you here." She blinked a few times before shifting her gaze anywhere but his face.

"Nor did I expect to see you." He smiled softly.

"I can't take this, please take this back, it's an unnecessary gesture for an unnecessary object." She shook her head and pushed the pound toward the older man.

"No no, I watched you pouting that you couldn't get it, i couldn't leave here knowing such a sweet little girl was leaving unhappy, could I?" Robert's voice was deep and raspy which made Kimberly feel weak at her knees.

"It's not your-"

"I won't say it again, Kimberly." Robert spoke more sternly making a small whine come from Kimberly.

Her gaze dropped to the floor. "I'm sorry, sir. Thank you, Mr. Mitchell."

"Good girl." Robert praised and patted the young girls head making her blush a deep shade of red.

"Now, hurry along, I can see you aren't well," His eyes dropped to the pads in her hand and back up to her face again. He grabbed the stuffie and tucked it under her free arm. "Buy this, get home and get all nice and warm in bed, okay?"

Kimberly nodded with a small smile. "Yes, Mr. Mitchell."

"Good girl." Robert praised again. It's not like I'm doing anything wrong, I'm just being kind.

"Goodbye." Kimberly waved before beginning her walk to the checkout.

"Delightful to see you again, Little miss." Robert called back and smiled. She's adorable.
