Kim and Caiden were in the home theatre watching a movie. Her head rested against him while he ran his fingers through her hair in a comforting manner. They had been that way for almost two hours.

Kimberly had an 'episode' after dinner and so Caiden had the idea of movies to comfort her. She felt awful, and even more so — embarrassed.

She stared into outer space as she sat alone at the table. Robert had a meeting with a client, Caiden was doing some paper work his Father requested to be finished by the time he got back, and Florence was doing laundry.

Completely alone.

The image of her Father getting ripped away from her by police flashed through her head, over and over again, causing the most unimaginable pain. She wished there was something she could do to fix it.

She needed her Father.

Thoughts of how he may have done it battled with her hope and belief that he would never do something so sinister. He wasn't capable of such a thing.

But that didn't help ease her mind. The constant screaming in her head, "Your own father killed your mother." Caused a scream to escape her own lips as she reached for her hair and tugged.

She stood from her seat, feeling as if the table was too close to her. Her legs began to shake, vision going blurry as anger, confusion and distress over took her body.

Murderer.

Her Father could never do such a thing.

Murderer.

He was a kind man, who only ever wanted the best for his Daughter, why would he kill her Mother?

To have her all to himself.

"No!" Kimberly screamed out, kicking her slipper clad foot against the stone fireplace. The rush of emotions didn't even allow her to feel the pain from her toes crushing against the stone.

She credited loudly, hair wrapped around her fingers, strands coming out with each tug.

He could have killed your whole family.

"Stop it!"

"Kimberly? Kimberly what's wrong?" Caiden came rushing into the dining room to catch her all red-cheeked and puffy-eyed.

"I need my thoughts to go away! Make them go away." She bawled, hopelessly steeping closer to the man who was unknowingly to her, the cause of her distress. "Please."

As a whimper left her mouth his arms came to wrap around the fragile girl. "Shhh." He hushed, trying his best to comfort her. "There's no need to be upset, everything will work out just fine."

"I can't take it. It's too much." She sobbed into his t-shirt. "I'm alone and I hate it."

"You have me. You'll always have me." He rubbed his hand up and down her back. "Come on, let's go relax with some tv, okay?"

And that's how they ended up in their current situation. She had never been so close to the man. He eyes were dropping from tiredness, but at least the thoughts had stopped since she was no longer alone.

Caiden felt like he was in heaven. Her head was in his lap, arms tucked right into a blanket. His own hands were both in her, one in her hair and the other under the blanket and on her upper thigh.

Paradise.

"What's going on?"

Never mind. Caiden thought to himself. "Father. How nice of you to join us."

"Yeah." He spoke bluntly. "What're you doing with her?"

"We're just cuddling while watching a movie. Isn't that right, baby?" Caiden tapped the girls shoulder.

Kimberly's head shot up in a slight confusion. She was drifting in and out of sleep, in the state where you could hear noise, but it wasn't quite distinguishable. "Mr. Mitchell! You're home!"

"Hello, gorgeous, I am. Miss me?" Though the man didn't have a smirk in his face, it was somehow showing in his eyes.

Kimberly smiled and bit her lip. She refused to make eye contact making a rough chuckle escape Robert's throat. He reached over his Son to pull Kimberly's lip from her teeth, this time allowing a smirk onto his face as his Son sat there with frustration across his. "Come sit with me."

A small giggle left Kimberly mouth as she stood from her spot besides Caiden to sit besides Robert, pulling the blanket with her. She gave herself slightly more space than when she sat with Caiden, but that was soon closed off by Robert wrapping his left arm around the girl and pulling her so that her legs were across his lap, and head against his shoulder.

He could feel Caiden's anger radiating off of him. Robert felt smug.

Another hour went by of mindless tv before Kimberly fell asleep in Robert's arms. He couldn't contain his smile as he lifted her into his arms to take her up into her room.

He was careful not to wake her as he pushed open her bedroom door with his foot, and laid her in her bed and pulled the blanket over her sleeping body. He took a moment to watch her sleeping form. She was like an Angel. He couldn't help it. He leaned down and laid a kiss upon her forehead, before slowly stepping away and lit do her bedroom, closing the door behind him.

"What was that?" A voice caused him to jump.

"What?" Robert snapped back at his Son.

"Kissing her forehead like a creep." Caiden folded him arms in front of him like a bratty child who wasn't getting his own way.

"Oh? I'm the creep? You got her Father imprisoned so you could try and brainwash her to like you." Robert couldn't believe his ears. He knew the age gap between the two was quite taboo, but he wouldn't class himself as a creep... just a man with desires.

"Will you shut up? I don't want her knowing that!" Caiden fumed. He was feeling judged. Judged by how own Father who he believed would have done the same thing.

"You'll find that you're the one who is raising their voice." Robert spoke, already bored of the conversation. "Look, you have to tell her the truth eventually. What you've done is extremely shocking. You can't keep her in the dark."

"No, you look. If you tell her I will tell her that it was your idea. She has no reason to believe you." Caiden stepped closer to his father in attempts of intimidating him.

"Do you think you scare me? I believe in doing what's right, not what will allow you to keep this manipulation going. It's wrong in so many ways. You're diabolical." Robert spoke with no fear in his voice. His Son acted like a child, and why would he be afraid of a child?

"Or maybe the fact that you could get charged perverting the course of justice would scare you. I made the call with your office phone. They'd sooner believe you over me." Caiden shot a wicked smile in his Father's direction before walking off in the direction of his own bedroom, feeling more powerful than ever before.
