♕ Roles: The South ♕

Start from the beginning

The Royal Princess: Female: 21-23 years old. Although she has a love-hate relationship with her mother, she is very much a young version of the Queen, though perhaps with a greater capacity for hate and enmity. She will stand up to anyone who makes her feel hurt, wronged, or slighted, even her own mother. Her sharp tongue, penchant for gossip, and impeccable Targaryen looks make her a fearsome young woman and she has a number of enemies. Rumour has it she has also inherited her mother's knowledge of herbs and poisons. It is difficult to make her do anything she doesn't want to do, but she shares her mother's respect for putting the family first. She is obsessed with the history of the Targaryens, and is the one who shares a close bond with the Queen's dragon, once loved greatly by her grandfather. (Currently played by Alabaster_Vixen.)

The Rebellious Heir: Male, 18 years old. The third child of the Queen and named after her (the name comes with the role. ;) ), he belongs to both too many families and too few. Despite looking exactly like his siblings, the King refused to recognise the boy as his son and he has been known as the royal bastard ever since. The Queen refuses to speak on the issue, making it impossible for him to have a place in the line of succession. Most agree he is likely the illegitimate child of the Queen and Lord Tyrell, with whom she had an affair spanning decades. He is something of a brooding presence, rebellious, and searching for a place to belong. His mother has spent her life avoiding him and sometimes seems to fear him, and the King refused to acknowledge his existence. He is very close to his siblings, seeking from them what he did not receive from his parents. His relationship with the Royal Princess is a curious one, and the Queen believes he lusts after his sister, making her eager to see him married despite his age. (Currently played by Ash_Black

The House Valeryon:

The House Valeryon is a small but noble house that shares ancestry and a distinctive physical appearance with the Targaryens. These characters should share the extremely blonde hair and purple eyes of the Targaryen line. The Valeryon children are cousins to the Targaryens through that line of ancestry, continuing what is seen as a very controversial way of perpetuating a "pure" Targaryen lineage.

The Golden Child (deceased): Male, 22-25 years old. The twin brother of the Caged Bird, he grew up with slightly more freedom and independence due to being the first-born male. However, he also was highly sheltered, kept away from anything that might endanger his health or virility, therefore making him unfit to marry the Royal Princess. In a stroke of painful irony, he was poisoned and died days prior to the wedding, leaving no option but for The Dornish Son to take his brother's place. (Character has been retired.)

The Caged Bird: Female, 22-25 years old. The twin sister of the now-deceased Golden Child, the Lady of House Valeryon has lived her life in a gilded cage. Suspecting almost from the day of her birth that she would inherit the Targaryen Queen's throne one day, her family has taken great pains to ensure she grew into a woman of pleasing temperament and virtue. Her life has been similar to what one might expect in the cloisters, rarely allowed to interact with men and denied temptations and opportunities for indulgence. Raised with the belief that a Queen must not overshadow a King, her formal education was limited by her station in life. Most of what she is and what she will become is of her own invention. The Dornish Son: Male, 18-21 years old.  The youngest of the Valeryon children, he is also the most worldly. Sent to Dorne at the age of 10 to continue his education, Lady Martell treated him like one of her own children, all of whom he knows quite well. Though young, he believes himself to be of superior intellect and character to his brother and envied his arranged marriage to the Princess. Upon his brother's death, the Queen arranged a match between her daughter and the Dornish Son on very short notice. Rather than being distraught, he seemed content with the match, and and managed to soften and win the Princess' heart. Though he is manipulative enough to make powerful moves and advance himself and his family, the Queen underestimates him, as she does his sister. The Targaryen family considers him a young, slightly awkward bridegroom who is no threat to anyone. It is difficult to tell how much of his demeanour and attachment to the Princess is real, and how much is part of an image he wishes to cultivate. (Currently played by softdweeb
