Chapter 21: Lovesick

Y/N's P.O.V

Thanksgiving, Christmas, and The New Year's had come and went. You and Omar had spent more time together as usual, and Omar would comfort you through bits of stress from what was going on in the world.

Now it was April 4, and you were home alone. Ever since the quarantine happened things were slow and painful. Here you sat in your room, texting Omar.

Y/N:
>Yo, you awake?

Omar:
Yea, Yea. What about you? How's Quarantine?<

Y/N:
>Boring. I know this is a stretch but Low-key, kinda need you to come over. I'm dying from lonliness lol.

Omar:
Always so Dramatic, Y/N. I like that about you tho. I wish I could come over, but I can't. I have to stay healthy so I can keep performing ;) <

Y/N:
>Ughhhh fiiiiiine. Well, what can we do together while this happens?

Omar:
Dunno, I'm sure you can find something out. You're pretty smart, so I have faith in you!<

You threw your phone onto your stomach and grunted. What was there to do in quarantine? You felt pretty terrible and a bit shaky.

Am I really that petty?

You got up and walked out of your room, and downstairs into the living room.

"Hey dad?"
You called out. Your dad was sitting on the couch watching TV.

"Oh? Hey kiddo!" He smiled, his smile was always a warm and friendly one.
"What's wrong?"

You plopped down on the couch next to him and sighed, speaking.
"Well, I want Omar to come over, but he can't because of this virus stuff. I can't find anything to do that we can both do together, and it sucksss."
You dragged on the s in the last word. Goodness, you really were dramatic.

Your father looked up, clearly in thought before speaking.
"So what about texting or facetiming? Is that not enough?"

You shook your head before responding.
"No sir, It's really...not the same as being able to do things with him. I wanna be able to take walks, go play, or game with him! I dunno!"
You threw your arms up in defeat.

Just then, a commercial came on the TV about a video game.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

The game explained how you could have your own island, invite friends over, craft, etc.

Invite your friends over, huh?
You thought. You may not play your video games much, but this could get you back into doing so.

"Dad...I think I know what I'm gonna do..."

You raced up to your room, using your phone to pull up the gamesrop website.
"There we go!"
With your own money, you ordered Animal Crossing.

~~ It will be here in about an hour! Thank you for shopping! ~~

The Gamestop site showed, and you squealed with excitement.

You then switched the tab to messages and texted Omar.

Y/N:
>Dude, I have an idea, but you'd have to get a Nintendo Switch of your own.

Omar:
Oh hey again. See? Knew you could do it! Wait, a Nintendo Switch? Those are a bit pricey, no?<

Y/N:
>Hear me out. There's a game called Animal Crossing: New Horizons and you can play Multiplayer on it. You'll need Nintendo Online, but it's worth it!

Omar:
Oh I see! Well, since I love you and want to see you but can't, I'll see what I can do!<

Y/N:
>YES! Tysm bb💗, just tell me when and gimme your friend code! Cya then!

Omar:
Cya~!<

Mission Accomplished! Now all that had to be done was to wait.

You lay in your bed and sighed happily, greatful to have such a caring guy as him. Maybe this could be the cure to lovesickness throughout this whole Quarantine thing!

You thought to yourself and chuckled lightly. You hoped this idea was well worth pulling off.

"Ya know, it's too bad we can't have Spring Break, but it isn't worth trying to have one anyways. Not like the world is ending."

You felt so relieved, but still so wary of this virus spreading. What would happen if you went out and got it, only to bring it back to your father?

He was a pretty healthy guy, though. But still, it wasn't worth unless you really needed to go out and get something.

For now, you would just sit at home and wait for Animal Crossing to get here.
