XI.Claim

my mate stares at me with a smirk and my sister Erica rolls her eyes back as he continues to do his work on her, she moans calling out his name, every part of me goes on pause, my fingers become numb and an ache forms in my head creating the worse migraine in the world 

"No, no, no" I whimpered "How could you do this to me" 

"Leave Eden, you're not needed here" Ambrosius mused an evil look in his eyes picking up his speed and movements.

I wanted to run at them scratch they're eyes out show them the pain I felt but I couldn't get up my body started to shake softly until  I was being yanked back and forth,

"Wake Up Lady Evarheart!" the familiar voice sounded off in the distance I closed my eyes tightly cradling my head from the painful headache. and with one last violent shake of my body, I shot up eyes wide open every thought in high definition. My eyes take in every ray of light and the cabins wooden interior and a worried-looking Claire pooped into my blurred vision.

out of breath and panting deeply, with tears streaming down my cheeks I jump into Claire's arms meeting her warm full chest in a caring embrace "Oh claire you have no idea how happy I am to see you." I whimpered

"Lady Evarheart I was so worried, u haven't awoken since your encounter with the Alpha two nights ago," she whispered nestling her head into my shoulder "you just kept crying and thrashing making the most peculiar noises" she sniffled trying to not let her words choke up.

"Oh I just had the worse nightmare" I muttered my body feeling heavy and my head had an awful ache no were near as bad as the one in my dream.

"I Apologize, Lady Evarheart I wish I could take all your pain and torment away, anything absolutely anything?" she asked starring me straight in the eyes. I quickly looked away, knowing her words were innocent but I just seemed to fall off at the deep end whenever she looked into my eyes with her glowing cyan blue ones.

"would you like to bathe with me" I whispered looking up at her, she smiled brightly nodding her head fervently

"I shall start on heating up the water" she mused sauntering out of the room and into the restroom

"One last thing claire," I shouted after her as she peeked back out

"For the good of god could you please just call me Eden"I chuckled as I watch her face visibly blush at my comment

"yes, of course, Eden" she answered I smiled back at her and she went back to warming the water, I got out of the bed, the three layers of blankets covering my body were beginning to make me have heat flashes. I followed in Claire's direction making my way through the bathroom doors.

Remembering how I saw myself in my dream made me want to look at myself now, I wanted to reassure my self that I didn't look like that. I turned to the bathroom vanity and to my shock it wasn't the under-eye bags nor chapped lips that scarred me but the monstrous bruise I had at the junction of my neck. I made Eye contact with claire through the mirror her face once again worried

" what's wrong Eden?" she questioned her brows furred

"Uhm what is wrong? do you not see this thing on my neck." I exclaimed eyes wide, yet all she did was chuckle whilst dipping her hands into the water of the large tub

she stood up whipping her hands on her dresses tunic, "you're so silly!" she chuckled coming over to me and helping me undress "I think we are having a miss communication Claire, seriously what is this?" I exclaimed, my tone seemed to finally catch her attention as she looked up at me wide-eyed

"You're not joking?" she questioned herself  "So you're telling me you didn't agree to the claim?"

"Whats a claim?" I muttered, she nodded her head absent-mindedly, she continued to undress me her face pensive, she seemed to be trying to find the correct words to say to me but nothing came out of her. she finished undressing me and helped me into the tub with no answer.

"Claire? you there" I questioned looking at her as she rid her self of her clothing, with some respect I looked away from her as she took her dress off even though the temptation to look outweighed the respectful side of myself.

"Eden, I dont know how to put this into words, I know you and the alpha had quite an interesting afternoon the other day," she said finally speaking up as she placed herself into the tub with me, now that her modesty was covered up I looked up at her and made eye contact I nodded my head to her statement, it was an interesting night.

"Well in the werewolf and lycanthropy community it is very normal for mates to state a claim on they're significant other usually it's the male that does it but a she-wolf could do one if she pleases" she stated taking a pause and thinking of her next words carefully

"The claim is a smaller and much more simple way of saying you are mated to someone but have not gone through the full mating process." she continued looking up at me to see if I was understanding. I still felt confused but I nodded my head, either way, allowing her to continue her statement.

"In other words, the claim  is the clarification of a mate bond, this means you two are soon to bed and bread pups"

a small giggle left my lips, then I chuckled placing my hand over my mouth and started full-on laughing, and for once the tears that gleamed my eyes was due to the pain of laughing so hard

I looked up at claire her face slightly worried

I giggled some more trying to stifle my laughter "Claire" I chuckled "The alpha said he doesn't want me, I think you're confusing this with a hickey"

"Are you feeling under the weather Eden?" she questioned

"No silly, I actually feel great I haven't laughed like that in a while" I smiled chastely leaning into the tub and relaxing into the warm water

"Eden, I think we are having a miscommunication " she laughed awkwardly

"You see if he doesn't fully mate with you in at least a week, you could die" she said hastly

it took me a moment to fully understand her words my relaxation didn't last long until I was sitting upright, eyes bulging out of my head

"Die?" I questioned trying to thoroughly understand what she said

"Claire, I could die..." I whispered "cause of this" I stated perplexed pointing at the mark on my neck she nodded her head slowly

"I need to speak to this ass whole right now!" I exclaimed standing in the tub

"Claire its time to put our big girl pants on and have a talk with the Alpha" I stated menacingly

"Uh I suggest that isn't a good idea, Eden" she inquired a nervous look etched in her heart-shaped face.
