I stomped through the snow sludge, walking right up to the corner building, following some chicks in as they unlocked the door. These places had no doorman and absolutely no fucking security.

"You two heading up to Crystal's place?" I called to the girls in front of me.

"Up?" The one laughed. "Her door's right there, and no not tonight."

Just the information I was looking for.

I stepped in front of the door, staring at the wood and steel. What the fuck was I doing here. I needed to just let it go, move the fuck on.

But my fist was pounding before I could stop it and suddenly the door swung open, with him standing on the other side. The same guy from earlier was now just inches from my fists.

The anger was back, the seething as I met his eyes. Good, I could tell them both to go to hell.

"Crystal," I demanded but he just looked me up and down, not saying a fucking word. "Get Crystal."

"Watch how you talk to me oaf." He laughed, as if I was just some fucking joke. He had no fucking idea how hard I was fighting to keep my fucking control.

"I wouldn't get in my face right now. Capisci?"

"You threatening me in my own home? You think this Naija boy's intimated by an Italian in a suit?"

His home.... she lived with him. Jesus, what the fuck was I doing here. "Crystal!"

She stepped out from the hall, squinting at me from the distance before her eyes bugged out. "Luca?" She charged towards the door, stopping right behind him. "What are you... how did you know where I lived!"

"So what- you fuck me then come home to screw him!"

She shot me a look of disgust while the guy started cracking up, looking back at her then to me with the biggest fucking smile.

"Sorry bro I don't bang my cousins." He kept laughing, turning back to face her. "Really? This guido?"

Cousin... cousin! Oh fuck.

She pushed in front of him, waving him away and he disappeared back into the house. "You need to leave Luca. I've had enough for one night."

She grabbed the door but I elbowed it to stay in place. I wasn't done yet.

"Why are you even here Luca? To embarrass me some more?"

"The asshole that jumped into your cab told me you were crying... that other chick was just..."

"Whooaaa.... you think I was upset because of the woman hanging over you?" She shook her head in disbelief. "I know who you are and I know how you are, I didn't go into this naive. I knew what I was getting into and that's all I wanted, a fun distraction."

A fun distraction... fuck tonight was not my night. "Then what..."

"You belittled me in front of everyone, embarrassed me and called out my personal business, our personal business to your cronies."

"Who cares about them... they..."

She held her finger up, silencing me. ".... Do you know what it feels like to hook up with a man and then for him to turn around and berate you for everyone's amusement."

She didn't understand. I wasn't fucking berating her. This was her fault anyways! "I saw you this morning... with him."

"And?" She shrugged, still giving me those disgust filled eyes.

"Fuck... I...."

"Respect is non-negotiable! Now please get the fuck out of my building."

She grabbed the door, slamming it shut right in my face.
