I pulled my phone out, seeing Sofia's name on the screen before answering it.

"Sei qui?"
"Sì, al piano di sotto."
"I'll be right down."

I grabbed my coat, switched off the light, and headed downstairs, hopping right into Sofia's ride.

"Felice Anno Nuovo Luca." She leaned over, giving me a hug with a suspicious fucking smile plastered across her face.

"You too..." She was still giving me a weird fucking look so I turned to the window, watching the sky darken as we drove away.

And I felt her eyes still studying me as she continued. "And how was your New Year's Eve?"

I thought back to the ballroom, then the hallway with Crystal, that gold dress billowing under me as I fucked her against the wall. "Decent, and yours?"

"Decent."

I was tempted to pull out my phone and send Crystal a message, demanding she come by tonight. But how could she not, not after that fucking high, and the weed had nothing to do with it.

"...I've heard a rumor," Sofia sighed and I turned back, meeting her curious eyes. "You've been seen with the same women a few times."

"And?" It was amazing how everybody was up in my fucking business. "I'm seen with your ass a lot too."

"The same woman Luca... this is a first."

"She's just a good fu... friend."

"A friend?" She laughed, smug as hell. "Well I'm glad you have finally found a ... friend."

"Abbastanza!" Jesus, Manhattan was such a fucking gossip scene. Who I fucked was my personal fucking business.

She shoved my arm, jilting me and I realized we were stopped in front of the brownstone.

"This is her new place?" I threw the door open, holding it as Sofia climbed out.

"This is their new place," she corrected me as if she was some fucking school teacher. "Best behavior Luca!"

"Am I ever anything but." Why was everyone talking to me like I was thirteen lately. I knew how to fucking handle myself... a good seventy percent of the time.

The door above us swung open and sorellina bounded out like an unleashed dog, racing down the steps towards us.

"Giorgia!" Sofia squealed, running up to meet her.

"Sofia! Luca!" Giorgia jumped into Sofia then swung over to me, wrapping her arms around my waist and squeezing me tightly. "I missed you guys at Christmas."

"Welcome back sorellina." I kissed the top of her head, holding my little sister tightly for another minute. We had missed her too.

"How was your New Year's?" Sofia ripped Giorgia from my arms, pulling her back up the steps.

"Wait, I thought you spent last night with them." Sofia had fucking said that right, the other night at dinner.

"No." She didn't even bother turning around, she just rushed Giorgia right up into the house as I followed.

"Laurence." I nodded to him as he made his way down the hall to greet us. "How was the trip."
