when you would have
laughed at my silly jokes
and listened to my songs
it could have been the day
when your eyes would be
reading my poetic words
you would have given me
a compliment or maybe two
i had imagined us together
on the soft green grass while
our friends partied like
there was no tomorrow
you were touching my face
saying you liked me too
