Heres ch 21 up as promised :)

A few lil announcements:

1. There is an old character coming back in this chapter. He was only mentioned once in one of the very beginning chs.

2. There will be some flashbacks in the next two chapters so hopefully it doesn't get too confusing.

3. I'm going to catch up on thanking followers this week :) shouldn't take too long

Thanks again to everyone and happy reading!

The soft pitter-patter of the rain had taken a turn for the worst as it now violently pounded at the window. The fire blazing behind me radiated heat yet I felt just as cold, if not more than I would have if I was standing outside; getting drenched with the tears from above.

My own rain drops had stopped falling but they hadn’t washed away the cold and empty feeling resonating from within the black abyss that I used to call my heart.

My eyes were still puffy. My nose was still runny and my heart…still aching. It felt as though I was cursed; destined to be haunted by the effects of heartbreak for an eternity.

“Hey, why don’t you come and sit by the fire? It might make you feel better.”

The sun had vanished a mere hour ago yet I found myself trapped in a longing, mesmerizing gaze at the darkness beyond. I felt as though I was chained down; banished from all light, doomed to forever live as an outcast in the boundless realm of blackness.

“Hey, come on.”

The voice was growing louder as it lingered closer towards my ears. The hands that reached out and grasped my arms were normally warm and gentle yet all I could feel was ice and roughness.

I wanted to react. I wanted to shout and demand my solitude but my voice was nowhere to be found.

The hands lifted me up from my slouched position on the chair. My legs were numb and it felt as though they had disappeared or had run away like the rest of me wanted to.

The hands turned my body to face the owner, whom I did not wish to see. In fact, I wished to see no one at all.

“My god…” Prince Christopher mumbled. He was taken back by the pale and weak, deathly look on my once glowing face.

“Kaitlynn, please, speak to me!” He cried desperately as he searched my eyes for the girl he had once known…the girl who was no longer here.

“For the love of god.” He muttered under his breath as he led me to the fireplace.

I stared blankly at the fire; watching the flames dance and flicker like snake tongues.

“Kaitlynn do something! Anything!”

He kneeled before me still attempting to rescue the girl who had drowned in her own sorrows.
