Just a voice

There's a voice in my head keeping me company ever since I was four. My parents and doctors kept telling me that I was imagining it, but I'm not. If I was it wouldn't still be here and probably wouldn't have aged with me. We're 17 now.

It was the first day of school and Alex, the voice in my head, kept saying how nervous she was because she was a new student transferring over halfway through the school year.

"You're Alex Jenneson, everyone will love you," I say trying to give her hope.

"Oh yeah because everybody will love the new kids... Anyways I have to go my mom's taking me to Starbucks before school and she doesn't want me talking to my imaginary friend in my head, as she says."

I say goodbye and start packing my bag and eating my cereal.

I was sat in my 1st block when the door flies open revealing a girl with dyed red hair that's cut a bit below shoulder length. "I'm Alex Jenneson, the new student."

This was my first time meeting Alex.

"Go have a seat next to Maggie Pari." The teacher pointed in my direction and carried on with her lesson.

"You never mentioned you'd be attending my school," I thought smiling over at her.

"Surprise."
