Chapter 6

I got in my moms car and we drove home in silence. The whole way I thought about Noel. We got to the house and went inside. My sister was there and she ran to me and hugged me.

"How was your flight?" I asked.

"Good, how was work?"

"Great." I smiled as Noel popped into my mind.

"I'm going to bed, you guys keep it down."
"Ok, night mom." We both said.
"So how's work in Boston?"
"I love it so much. How is school going? I can't believe you are graduating in a few months."
"Yeah, me either."
"Let's go hangout in your room like we used to." She smiled.
"Ok!"
We sat on my bed talking.

So are you dating anyone?" She asked.
"Uh...no."
"Why did you hesitate?"
"I kinda like someone."
"Oooh, who is it?"
"A guy I work with."
"No wonder mom said you love going to work. Tell me all about him."
"Just a guy I have a small crush on."
"What's his name?"
"Noel."
"Are you going to ask him out?"
"No."
"Why not?"
"It's complicated."
"Why is it complicated?"
"He's older than me and my boss and I know mom and dad would freak out about it if we dated."
"Who cares what mom and dad think? It's your life."
"You know how they treat me, Nora."
"Yeah. Well I say go for it, they don't even have to know. They don't have to know every guy you date or sleep with."
"Are you seeing anyone?"
"No, I was seeing this really hot guy, but we ended it a few months ago. So does this older guy like you back?" She asked.
"I don't know. We kinda flirt and we almost kissed once, but..."
"Almost kissed?" She gave me a look and I laughed.
"Do you have a picture of him?" She asked.
"No. I wish I did. Come out with us tomorrow night and help me decide if he likes me or not."
"Ok, Well, I'm tired. I'm gonna go sleep."
"Ok, goodnight, love you."
"Love you too sis."
She left my room and I turned out my light. I climbed into bed and thought about Noel. I didn't want to like him, but I absolutely did.

The next night my mom dropped me and Nora off at the shop at 9. We were meeting Noel and Jeff there. We went inside and saw Jeff.

"Hey." I smiled.

"Hey, this must be your sister."

"Yes, this is Nora." I looked at her

"This is Jeff."

"Hi" she smiled.

I looked at the back room and saw it was dark.

"Where's Noel?"

"He left a little bit ago, he said he would be back."

"Where did he go?"

"I don't know." He shrugged.

"So this is where you work." Nora looked around the shop.

"Yeah, it's pretty boring sometimes, but Noel and Jeff are awesome so."

She smiled and whispered "but Noel's more awesome, right?"

I gave her a look to shut up and she laughed. We talked to Jeff for a little bit then I saw the door open out of the corner of my eye. My heart started pounding as I saw Noel walk inside. My sister saw me looking past her and turned to see what I was looking at. She turned back to me and smiled. Noel came over to us.
