"The kiss." He whispered, his hot, alcoholic breath fanning against her lips, "Was it really a mistake?"
Anna gulped, gathering every ounce of courage left in her body, "Yes. Kissing you was a mistake, because you're my teacher...
"Jungkook..." Anna trailed off. She didn't know what to say. She didn't know if she should cry - heartbroken - or smile, knowing that Jungkook cared a lot about her.
"I like you, Annabeth."
Anna's heart skipped a beat. Her eyes grew as wide as saucers, glazing over what Jungkook had just said, "What?" Her throat went dry.
"I like you. A lot. I don't know since when I started having feelings for you, but, it's true, Ann. I know you might not feel the same way about me and it's okay -"
Jungkook was cut off when his rambling lips met with another pair of soft ones against his. His eyes widened as he glanced at his best friend that had her eyes closed as she softly pecked his lips.
He closed his eyes and kissed her back softly. His palms gently cupped the sides of her face as their lips embraced each other.
Anna was the first one to pull back, "I like you too, Jungkook. I- I just... I was so scared to confess because I couldn't let my feelings ruin our friendship."
"Will you give me the pleasure of being your boyfriend, Annabeth Beckett?" His thumb slid back and forth on the soft skin of her cheek, eyes searching for an answer in her sparkling ones.
"Yes, Jeon Jungkook." She smiled, eyes turning into crescents, "I'd love to be your girlfriend."
His hands wrapped tightly around his girlfriend's body, pulling her into his chest, "I hope this isn't a dream."
"It's not." Anna hugged him back as tightly as she could.
Jungkook swayed them side to side gently as they drowned into the familiar silence.
"Happy birthday, Ann."
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANN!" Hoseok and Sara cheered the moment they saw Anna turn the corner into the corridor.
"Thank you so much, guys!" She hugged each of them tightly.
"I bought you something!" Sara sang as she dug through her backpack.
"Actually, the three of us bought it." Hoseok corrected, nudging his busy girlfriend.
"Was my idea though." Sara stuck her tongue out at Hoseok and continued shoveling into her bag.
"Gosh, can you both quit quarreling? It's only 8:30 in the morning!" Jungkook exasperated.
"Ah, here you are!" Sara mumbled to herself with a smile and pulled out a small box from her bag, holding it before Anna.
"Go on, take a look." Hoseok clapped his hands, a heart-shaped smile adorning his face.
Anna took the box and opened it. Her breath caught in her throat.
"Oh, my god!" She gasped, cupping her mouth with one palm as her eyes studied a delicate, gold chain with a pendant of the sun, moon and star together.
