"I'm just going to have to call Ryder aren't I?" I say to Christen as she sits in my room with Kelley and Julie after I've filled everyone in

"would it better to not do it face to face though, so you can be there for him when he finds it all out?" Julie says making a very good point.

"but Hilary is here and I don't want him, for whatever reason, to go mad" I explain

"yeah but he doesn't know that does he" Kelley states

"that is very true" I answer contemplating whether to fly Ryder over early

"he's coming in a week anyways to see our first match so do I wait till then?" I ask the gang

"no I think it'll be best to get it over and done with before our tournament starts so it's not on your mind for the first game," Julie says making another good point

"This is why you guys are my best friends, you always know what to do to help," I say smiling at the three of them

"I can think of the countless times you've helped me out Hayley, I think we all still owe you big time," Christen says smiling at me

"Okay, so should I text him and say to come down early then?" I ask the girls one last time

"Yeah, do it before training now," Kelley says to me, I nod my head and take out my phone to send Ryder a text

Hey, was wondering if you had a few seconds to talk?

Yeah just left Uni, I'll call now

"Shit, he's calling me now," I say a little panicked that I'm going to have to speak to him so soon

"there's nothing to worry about Hayley, calm down," Christen says to me

I take a deep breath in trying to calm my heart rate down a little because I can practically feel it beating out of my chest right now. My ring tone goes off and I look at my screen to see Ryder face timing me.

"we'll sit opposite you," Kelley tells me getting up from her seat next to me and sitting next to Christen and Julie.

"Hey is everything okay, you don't normally contact me when you're working unless it's important?" Ryder says knowing me too well

"Yeah I just got told some news that affects us both really and I want to tell you face to face not over text or call, do you think you could come a little earlier to Rio?" I ask my brother trying to keep a calm face in hopes to not worry him

"I was already planning to come today anyways, what the hell is this about Hayley?" Ryder asks me

"Wait why? I thought you weren't coming until a day before our first game against Thailand?" I ask my brother slightly avoiding his question but being curious myself.

"Lily and I broke up so I want to get out of the house for a bit," He tells me causing a gasp to escape my lips in shock

"You broke up! When and why?" I ask confused since they seemed to be doing so well last time I saw them both.

"We just fell out of love for each other, it happens sometimes, are schedules were busy and she wants to focus on her school work which I completely understand because I do too, we're staying friends since we were that before we dated anyways. I'm doing fine before you start worrying your socks off, obviously it's a little sad, but I know it's for the best" Ryder explains over the call

"Stop growing up and becoming so mature," I say to my 19-year-old brother who seems less like my little brother every day.

"Someone has to be, anyways I'll see you in a few hours to talk," Ryder tells me turning serious again
