After The Storm

I got my fortune read
By a tarot reader
And she grimaced and apologized.
True story.

I have been through so much.
And everyone wants to talk about rainbows after rain.
But no one wants to talk about clean up after a storm.

No one wants to talk about
Hoisting limbs on your shoulders
With your neighbors, and pulling logs away.

No one wants to talk about
Coming back two years later
And finding grooves in the ground
From where your tree friends branches scraped the ground, begging for purchase.

I have been through so much.
Now it's time to clean up,
And figure out what's next.
