Chapter 14

* Kate *

I sat on my bed looking up at the ceiling , letting my mind wander . I couldn't believe it ...... 

Damon walked in sliding out of his leather jacket and walking over to me , pausing , seeing me so still and quiet . 
" What's up ? " he asked , slididng into bed next to me .

I sighed .
" Alice had a vision . Someone has been into Edward's girlfriend's house to steal her scent . The Cullens think that the vampire that attacked me was working for a vampire that almost killed me last time I was in town here ." I replied . 

Damon froze . 
" Why ? " he asked .

I kept my gaze on the ceiling .
" Her name is Victoria . Her mate went after Edward's and he killed hers . Now she wants revenge on the people closest to him . Me and his girlfriend. " I replied with a sigh .

Damon looked down at me and stroked my cheek . 

" That's not happening . " he said as he bent down and ran his lips against mine .

I pulled back . 
" It makes sense at least . " I said .

He rolled his eyes and moved down , kissing my neck .  I stretched my neck up , farther for him to kiss and he smirked , moving me so that I was sitting ontop of his chest . I bent over and ran my fingers over his chest , letting him kiss my neck .I heard the door open and Edward was about to walk in and paused in the doorway with wide eyes .Emmett was behind him. Damon and I froze . I looked awkard but Damon smirked . I rolled off of him . 
" What ? Don't you knock ? " I asked , crossing my arms .  

Emmett burst out laughing and Edward's eye twitched slightly . 

" I didn't know your uh ... friend was back . I didn't hear him come in . " Edward explained , looking down as if to clear the image from his mind .

" I just got in . " Damon said , holding in a laugh .

Edward glared over at him slightly before glancing over at me , who was lieing next to Damon glaring over at Edward . 
" We just wanted to see if you wanted to go out to eat or something . "Emmett said , holding in a laugh .

I looked over at Damon who shrugged . I could tell he found this situation absolutely hilarious .
" Sure . " I replied as Damon and I both got up at the same time and I tossed him his leather jacket . He caught it perfectly and slid it on with a smirk , wrapping his arms around my waist .
" I thought he was just a bodyguard ... "Emmett  said chuckling .
" Shut up , Emmett . " Edward growled , following us downstairs .

Damon twirled me out the door .  

" Can I have my keys ? " I asked .

He rolled his eyes and used his other hand , to reach into his pocket and hand me my keys while keeping the other hand holding mine as he lead me out the door . 
" Don't you want to ride with us ? " Edward asked .

I shook my head .
" Nah . You drive slow . " I smirked , sliding into the car as Damon slid on his sunglasses and got in the other side smirking . 

Emmett and Jasper chuckled and the Cullens slid into thier cars and drove down the driveway so we could follow . I hit the gas , reving past them as Damon smirked bigger . 

" I don't think your brother likes me . " he replied , running his hand over my leg .

I shrugged . 
" Then he can deal with it , can't he ? " I asked .

Damon chuckled and ran his hand over my chin to pull me into a kiss . 

" Don't distract your driver . " I laughed , wanting to tangle my fingers in his hair. 
He smirked , rubbing up my legs again .

I rolled my eyes as we pulled up at the diner . Damon got out and blurred over ,getting to door for me . Edward's jaw dropped seeing Damon so confident out in public . I sighed . 

" Show off . " I said , running a hand over his chest .

He smirked and my phone beeped . I looked down and my face grew red .

" What is it ? " Edward asked .

Damon looked over my shoulder and burst out laughing . 
" Stefan is an idiot . " he said laughing harder .

I looked over at Damon and nodded . 
"Your brother is an ass . " I said as I hit the " ignore " button . 

" Is there something we should know ? " Edward asks suprised .

I shook my head . 
" No , not really . " I said , grabbing Damon's hand and pulling him inside .

After we ordered , I flipped through my phone deleting old texts . 
" So , Kate . We are having a graduation party . Edward is graduating tomarrow with me and Jasper and  we decided to throw a party . You two will be there , right ? " Alice asked hopefully .

" Parties are always fun . " Damon smirked .

I sighed .

" Sure , I guess . I don't play well with others though . " I warned .

They all laughed except Edward who shifted his wieght and gave Damon a death glare .
