Chapter 7

* Kate *

I woke up about a week later  in the Boarding House . Mrs.Flowers had a nice house . I stretched and looked over at the clock . It was late . I must've been tired . I didn't bother with school . I'd been there and done that for several years .I  decided I needed air and so I got up and slid into a leather jacket with some holey skinny jeans and a lacy tank top , leaving my hair pin straight . My hair never did what I wanted it to do . Both Edward's and my hair were naturally pin straight . I hated the resemblence between us . We were practically twins . I was frozen at 17 , about a year after he was ..... turned into a vampire so I guess we are both 17 since he is frozen too . I sighed , pushing those thoughts from my mind as I walked out , waving to Mrs.Flowers and then setting off down the sidewalk . Almost instantly , I ran head first into someone . I groaned and fell back much like i had the first time .I heard a laugh and looked up to see someone fimiliar . 

" Stefan ! " I exclaimed in sheer embarresment . 

He helped me up and chuckled . 

" We have to stop meeting like this . " he said , smiling .

I laughed ,nodding .

 " I don't know how much more falling my butt can take . " I laughed .

He chuckled and we started walking .

 " You should really be more careful . " he said .

I nodded ,

" Should , but I probably won't . " I shrugged . 

" And why is that ? " he asked , cocking an eyebrow .

" I don't have to . Nobody cares . " I said , almost proudly .

He paused and shook his head , looking over at me .

" Don't ever say that , Kate . " he said seriously .

I was taken back by this and simply nodded , even though I believed it was true . He sighed . 

" Would you uh ... like to go get a coffee ? " he asked with a raised eyebrow at me .

I smiled . It'd been a long time since I'd been out with anyone .

 " Sure . " I smiled .

He smiled back in return and grabbed my hand gently , leading me back through town and into a place called the " Mystic Grill " .We sat down and I couldn't help but feel eyes on us as we sat down at a booth and I shrugged out of my jacket .I felt the eyes again . 

" Is uh ... somebody staring ? " I asked confused .

He rolled his eyes .

" One moment . " he said dissapearing .

* Stefan *

I left Kate and walked over to Caroline . 

 " Hello , Caroline . " I sighed .

She squealed .

 " You're back ! " she exclaimed , hugging me .

" And so is Damon . " I sighed again .

She paused and pouted slightly .

" Should've guess . You two are a package deal . " she said .

I nodded as she glanced over at Kate with a confused look . 

" Who is the new girl ? " she asked , crossing her arms with an excited glint in her eye . 

" That would be Kate . Kate Mason . She's new in town and you're creeping her out with your staring." I chuckled .
