For three days I fell into a loop of guilt, fear, and self-blaming for what happened. The atmosphere around the territory was tense and sad. I haven't been out of the room for those three days. I didn't have the will to move or do anything.

"Is what he said true? Did he really love me? Do I love him?" I questioned

'You idiot, of course you love him back. He said that for a reason'

"So now you're on my side? What makes you think that I like him?"

'You wouldn't be like this if you didn't' there was a knock on the door

"Who is it?" I asked

"It's Elizabeth, I just came to tell you dinner is ready if you want some" she started walking away

"Elizabeth, wait," I said as I rushed to open the door

"Yeah," she said stopping

'Ask her. She would know'

"Tell me the truth, did Connor love me?" I asked her

"Are you serious?" she started turning toward me "Ever since he first saw you he hasn't shut up about you. Every day he tells us about you. From how you look when you're excited, to what color of brown and gold your hair looked that day. He is head over heels for you" I was stunned

"He...he talks about me?" I asked she nodded

"He is always bragging about how he was the most amazing mate ever and that he thanks the Moon Goddess for you" she added my face heated up at this.

"Th..thanks" I stammered out

"I'm serious, he's obsessed with you" she walked away. Her words rattled around in my head while I went downstairs

"Athena, how are you feeling?" Jess asked as she put all the food on the table

"Feeling better, hungry though" we both laughed

"Well it's ready if you want to eat" she smiled and sat down, I sat down too. The dinner was filled with silence and occasional questions about the search for Connor and the person who attacked us. My thoughts occupied my mind as so many questions came up

"I need more opinions on this. Just to be sure"  when dinner ended, I went up to Robin's room.

"Hey Robin, can I talk to you about something?" the door opened to Robin holding a game remote and a headset on

"Sure what is it?" he said taking off the headset

"I never noticed how long Robin's hair is" he swung his head to the side moving his bangs out of the way

"Be serious with me. Has Connor ever talked about me?" I asked him

"Oh yeah, all the time. That's all he talks about when we're playing video games. He is always going on about how beautiful you look, how your voice is so cute, the clothes you wear and how good you look in them. When you're not in the room he is bragging about how awesome his mate is" Robin recalled

"Oh shit"

"I didn't know he felt that strongly about me," I told him

"Yeah, he really loves you. I don't think he's ever had something like this before"

"Thanks," I said but then turned back around and ruffled his hair "You're good brother" I praised then took off hearing 'Hey!' as he was mad at me. As I was walking down the hall, I wonder what Connor's mom would say about him "I should ask her. I would get a more accurate answer to this" I thought as I headed downstairs seeing that she was on the couch watching TV "Jess" she turned around

"Oh Athena, come down here," she told me. I sat next to her

"Can I ask you a serious question?" I started

"Sure, what's on your mind dear?" she said as she faced me. I took a breath

"What does Connor think about me? So far all I've gotten is that he talks about me all the time and that he brags on me. I just want to make sure they're not exaggerations" I explained she sighed then took my hands into her

"Athena, the first time that Connor brought you home. Dylan told me that he came into his office all giddy and excited as if he had just gotten the best gift of his life. Connor told his dad all about you. How he felt seeing you for the first time, about how the sparks of electricity felt when you two bumped into each other. That night he bragged about how you were staying here and that you would be an amazing Luna and that he was so blessed to have you as a mate. Every day he would tell everyone about you from what you two talked about or did that day to what you were wearing." she paused for a moment, "I've never seen Connor like this. He has never been this happy in his life until he got you. He's always struggled with expressing his feelings or anything to do with the emotion love. Since he saw you, he's been struggling with telling you that he loves you or expressing his feelings to you. Athena, I tell you this now, Connor fell in love with you at first sight. And has fallen deeper in love since you've been here" this beyond shocked me.

"He..he really loves me?" I stuttered still doubting this she nodded

"I can see in your eyes that you are having doubts but know this. Connor would never hurt you in any way. He only wants you to be happy even if that means sacrificing his life to save yours" her tone was serious but motherly. This tipped me over the edge, I sobbed right into this woman's arms

"It's just...I've never had anything like this. I was terrified this wasn't true. That it was all fake and that he would leave me or has never loved me. I'm so sorry" she shushed me

"Oh honey, why would you think that?" she asked me

"Nothing in my life has ever been good. All those things I've told you were lies. I was abandoned by my parents and raised by this old man, grandpa, who soon disappeared mysteriously when I was young. I've been on my own for my whole life. Everything good that happens to me gets ripped away from me" I confessed sobbing

"I didn't...we didn't know Athena. No wonder you were doubting yourself" she said assuring me "But now you don't have to worry about that. You know why?" she asked I sniffled

"Why?" she lifted up my head looking at me

"Because now you are a part of this family. We have accepted you into our home and into our hearts. You belong here, and here you will stay" she kissed my forehead as I wiped my tears away "Go to bed, you must be tired," she said turning off the lights downstairs. Nodding I headed upstairs going straight to bed.
