Blood Life, Chapter 1- Revealed

 hi everyone,

this is my first story so it's probably not as good as some of the others on this website. i need help from everyone so i can see what i need to change in this story. the first couple of chapters may be boring but i tried to make the others better.

Chapter 1- Revealed

 "You're a vampire!" Maddy said. I didn't think she would find out so quickly. Wow, I was bad at keeping secrets. I looked up. Maddy's long, silky black hair ran down her shoulders. Her face was white as snow. Well, not as white as mine but still white. She looked small and scared. She tried to hide her face behind her hair. That's weird. All the others that have found out what I am have run away screaming even though I could catch them easily.

"Aren't you afraid?" I asked but she just stood there. The wind blew her hair away from her face. I didn't think I was that scary. "Maddy?" Again nothing. Wait no this time she shook her head the tiniest bit. I love these vampire reflexes. Her eyes were as round as saucers. She gulped.

"I'm... I'm not afraid," she said quietly. No human could have heard her. "I'm just freaked out." she said that a bit louder. She grabbed my hand and shivered. No wonder, I was cold and hard like ice. Goose bumps rose on her arms. I saw her veins through her skin. Don't think about that now you can't go attaching you only human friend.  I thought. My throat ached. It felt like razor blades were cutting through them. The bush where we were was small and open. It wasn't even really a bush. More like a bunch of trees. Anyone could come here. We needed to go somewhere less open.

"I'll explain from the start but it's a long story and you can't tell anyone. Not even people you think you can trust." I shrugged, "we should go back to my house. Then I'll explain."

"Okay," she said. She was still shaken.

"I will carry you to get there quicker."

"Cool, but I will be too heavy..." she started.

"I'm a vampire. I can handle it." I picked her up in my strong arms. She gasped.

"Close your eyes, the first time I was carried by a vampire I fainted."

I ran through the cold forest, my feet barely thumping. I caught a few human scents as I rushed past the towns. In a few seconds we had stopped at my house. She looked puzzled. Well, to be honest my house looked like anyone else's house. Big and bright. She was probably expecting a dark spooky house with cobwebs. I took her inside. Paintings and portraits covered the walls. I placed her on the floor carefully. She grabbed onto the wall.

"Come on" I said. "We'll go in my room." We walked up the creaky stairs into my room. She gasped. I think she thought my room was pretty impressive. "I think your room has been invaded by pink fluffy aliens." She giggled. So she wasn't impressed. She was surprised. No wonder, the walls were painted all different shades of pink. They were covered with feather boas and all different pictures of me and my classes at school. The carpet was fluffy, pink and covered with a giant soft mat. There was a small bed in the centre and a desk to the side. Otherwise the giant room was empty. Well, the desk was very big. All the shelves were packed with all kinds of books. I did have a lot of spare time since I didn't sleep. I don't even know why I have a bed. I guess I just missed my human life even though my bed was a couple of blankets draped on the floor. It wasn't even my own. I had to share with my sister and brother. We sat on my bed. I gave Maddy a couple of blankets because it was pretty cold and we didn't have heaters because we didn't feel the cold. "Now I will explain. Where should I start?" I asked. I didn't know how to tell her. I'd never told anyone about my life.

"We... well how about the start?" Maddy said.
