"Here." Harry sat down beside me and handed me a steaming coffee. "Put milk in there too." He mumbled while I took a sip. I pulled away at the bitter taste but couldn't help but bring it towards me for another sip. I was beyond exhausted.

Liam was admitted into an emergency ward. I watched through teary eyes as he was rushed into private room before the door closed on Harry and I.

"Hey.. I'm sure he's fine." Harry put his hand behind my back and soothly started to rub it. "He's always been okay."

I looked at him placing the the coffee on my knee, holding it with one hand. "This has happened before?" I asked shocked. I watched as he slowly nodded and raked his fingers through his hair.

"I don't know if I should tell you..." he mumbled pulling his hand from my back. I stared at his green eyes pleading him with mine. He sighed and screwed his eyes shut. "He's got a heart condition." Harry mumbled.

I furrowed my brows. Liam has a heart condition? How did I not know. I had to remind myself that I hadn't known him for that long. Plus we never talked about those sort of things. We always just argued which resulted him being violent towards me. I couldn't think back to a single encounter where we had been pleasant to one another— actually him being pleasant towards me. He did nearly get be raped.

"Liam was born with cardiovascular disease. Which is a heart condition. He tries to maintain a strict diet of low fat food and takes antiplatelets which helps reduce the risk of having a heart attack by thinning your blood and preventing clotting. But he goes off the rails sometimes and takes a shit ton of drugs and today I guess was a day he went off the rails. I found 3 bags of empty coke in his pocket and illegal drugs are very harmful for him because it basically—" he paused when he saw that I was getting overwhelmed by everything he was saying. Tears where rushing down my cheeks more aggressively and I brought a hand up to my mouth to stop my sobs from escaping.

"He as a heart condition.." I whispered. My mind went back to a Liam as a child. He had no mother.. his father was so cruel and this poor little boy had to take care of himself so early on. "I didn't know.." I whispered pushing my face into my hands and allowing myself to silently sob. It was all too much for me. I felt like such a bad guy. I had been judging him so harshly and sometimes I did have a right to but I never allowed him to explain the pain he felt when our mother left him. I always closed him down because I didn't understand and now he may never have a chance to explain to me. And I may never have a chance to be the sister he's always wanted.. he wasn't perfect. No he definitely wasn't. He kidnapped me and tore me away from my home but that was only because he didn't know any better. He's had a harsh life and I had been so selfish.. I had everything and he got the one parent who was cruel and vile.

"Liv.." Harry gently pried my hands from my face making me turn to him. "You didn't know." He whispered. "Don't feel bad. It's not your fault. You didn't make him take coke it's—"

"I didn't help either." I sniffled.

Suddenly the door where Liam has disappeared down opened. A doctor came out holding a clipboard. He wore glasses and he seemed to be in his late forties.

"Mr Styles." He nodded at Harry before looking at me. "We conducted CPR immediately and was able to stabilise him." The doctor nodded making relief wash through my body. "But we found a large dose of cocaine in his system. Does he know that it is extremely harmful for a person with a heart condition like himself to take illegal substances?"

"Yes. He does know." Harry answered quickly.

The doctor frowned nodding. "Okay well I'd like to keep him in for a few days. Clear his system out." He looked down at his papers before looking back up. "I'd like him to get his rest. You can see him in the morning. He's still asleep." The doctor says before leaving.

"We should get going Liv." Harry bent down to pick up the coffee cup he had placed beside his feet. "There's nothing for us to do except come back here tomorrow."

I reluctantly nodded and allowed Harry to pull me towards the exit sign.

Do you think that Olivia should feel guilty for not giving a chance to Liam?

Also if you haven't noticed I'm trying to tone down Harry's personality a bit from what he started of as. He's still going to say stupid things but he'll be more aware than he was at the start.
